Johnny E. Dennis

Johnny E. Dennis, age 66, of Selma, AL died on Monday, May 1, 2006 at his home.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 in the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Rod Rodchester. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include: wife, Nona Wright Dennis; sons, David L. (Beverly) Dennis and Johnny (Michelle) Dennis, Jr.; daughter, Teresa Dennis; brothers, David A. Dennis and Montia L. Dennis; sister, Juanita Woodward; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Roger Cook, David Earl Dennis, Steve Johnson, Montia E. Dennis, Montia L. Dennis and William F. Day.

The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 2, 2006.

Charles Hermon Simmons, Jr.

Charles Hermon Simmons, Jr. of Houston TX passed away Thursday, April 27, 2006 at a hospital in Houston at the age of 53.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Simmons; son Charles (Mary) Simmons III; and daughter, Carol (Steve) Nguyen, all of Houston TX; mother, Arie E. Nickles; brothers, Herman (Linda) Nickles and Larry (Alicia) Nickles; sister-in-law Essie “Bill” Nickles and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Clarence C. Nickles, sister, Carol Simmons and brothers, Robert Simmons, Emmett and Lonnie Nickles.

Pallbearers will be James Ronald Sheehan, William Sheehan, Randy Sheehan, Lee Mims, Wayne Nickles and Sutt Molett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Molett, Donny Sheehan, William Pratt Sheehan, J. C. Sheehan, Clifford Sheehan, Jr., Chris Sheehan, and Terry Sheehan.

Funeral services will be Tuesday May 2, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Cambridge Christian Church in Orrville, AL with interment following in the church cemetery with Rev. Otey Crisman officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cambridge Christian Church.

Mrs. Elnar Anderson

Mrs. Elnar Anderson, age 92, of Demopolis, Alabama passed away on April 30, 2006 at Atmore Nursing Center in Atmore, Alabama.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 11:00 am at Kingdom Hall in Demopolis, Alabama. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery, Demopolis, Alabama.

The remains will lie in state at Kingdom Hall beginning at 10:00 am.
