Dora Elizabeth Langston Tuberville

Dora Elizabeth Langston Tuberville, at the age of 84 died on Sunday, April 23, 2006 at her home in Pell City, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Magnolia, AL. with Brother James Martin officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. A viewing will preceded the funeral at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Goose Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 28, 2006 at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tuberville is survived by her son, Henry Cecil Tuberville of Mifflinville, PA; daughter, Sue Ellen (Johnnie) Martin; daughter-in-law, Judy Tuberville; twenty grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Maggie Smoke of Pleasant Hill, AL, Ruth Parsons of Hickory, NC, and Gertrude Cutchen of Spokane, WA and one sister-in-law, Nan Langston of Selma, AL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Cecil Tuberville; son, Herber Wilson Tuberville; mother, Eunice Langston; father, Walter William Langston; brothers, Herber Langston of Selma, AL and Willard Langston of Heuytown, AL; sisters, Ruby Brackner of Selma, AL, Daisey Smoke of Tallahassee, FL, and Myrtle Langston of Sardis, AL.

Pallbearers will be Cecil Tuberville, Scott Tuberville, Timothy Tuberville, Frank Martin, David Martin and Joseph Martin.

Louise Smith Ingram

Louise Smith Ingram, age 77, of Sweet Water, AL passed away on April 26, 2006 at her home.

She was born on March 9, 1929 in Linden , AL. She was a retired school teacher. She was a member of Sweet Water Baptist Church and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Visitation will be at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, April 29, 2006 from 9:30-11:00 am.

Funeral service will be held at O’Bryant chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 11:00 am with Rev. Douglas Turner officiating. Burial will be at Sweet Water Cemetery in Sweet Water, AL.

She was survived by: two daughters, Sandra D. Walker of Sweet Water, AL, Vivian D. Walters of Nanafalia, AL; one son, Chelsey Maxwell Daniels of Linden, AL; one sister, Jean S. Perry of Tuscaloosa, AL; seven grandchildren, Candy W. Thompson, Chris Walker, Daniel Walker, Dr. Randy Walters, Jr., Karen Walters, Dylan Daniels, and Chelsea Daniels.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Bill Ingram and one grandson, Ryan Walter.

Richard Adler Rosenberg

Richard “Billy” Adler Rosenberg died April 23, 2006, in Tucson, Arizona, where he had made his home after retirement in Selma.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Old Live Oak Cemetery, with Ed Ember officiating.

Mr. Rosenberg is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elsye Louise Eagle Rosenberg, also of Tucson; their daughter, Royce Wells of Austin, Texas; their son, Ronald “Ron” Eagle Rosenberg of Tucson; a granddaughter, Lisa Kay Wells Cloughley (and her husband Graeme), also of Austin; and his brother Edward Adler Ross of Boston.

Born in Selma at the King Memorial Hospital, Mr. Rosenberg grew up in New York City, returning to Selma as a young man. After serving as a combat infantryman in World War II, he was active in the local business community, managing the popular Boston Bargain Store for a number of years. A master locksmith, he also owned and operated a locksmith business in Selma.

He was a member of the Selma Kiwanis Club, a founding member of the Alabama River Power Squadron, past president of Temple Mishkan Israel and a founding director of Old Depot Museum.

Rosenberg was also a longtime member of Mensa.

An expert photographer, he recorded on film the city’s historic buildings, civic and political events and people of past generations. Many are on display in local museums and galleries.

Boating was perhaps his favorite hobby. Known as “Cap’n Billy” by other enthusiasts, much of his time after retirement was spent boating on the Alabama River and nearby lakes.

Memorial gifts may be made to Habitat for Humanity or to a charity of choice.

Mrs. Aramenthia Cornelius, of Demopolis, AL, formerly of St. Croix, United State Virgin Islands, passed away on April 22, 2006 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 in St. Croix, Virgin Islands. Interment will follow in Kinghill Cemetery, Sr. Croix, Virgin Islands.

Remain will be shipped to James Memorial Funeral Home, St. Croix, Virgin Islands.

Denise Nicole Coleman, age 41, Selma, Alabama died on April 20, 2006 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Methodist Church with Joseph Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Walker Mortuary directing.

Arthur Lee Coleman, age 62, of Alberta, Alabama died on April 24, 2006.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, April 30, 2006 at 11:00 am at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Alberta, Alabama with Rev. C.L. Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Survivors include: wife, Fannie Coleman; parents, Lee and Ruby Seltzer; five sons, Arthur Coleman, Jr., Daniel Coleman, Michael Wade, Johnny James, and Benjamin Seltzer, Jr.; five daughters, Mary Hall, Angela Coleman, Annie Coleman, Terry Coleman and Diane Coleman; six brothers, T.C. Brandon Kyle Crear, age 18, of Moss Point, MS, died on April 22, 2006 at a local hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 2pm from the Zion MP Church with Rev. JD Fails officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home directing.

Frank King Jr.

Frank King, Jr., age 73, of Selma, Alabama died on April 22, 2006 at VA Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 29,2006 at 1:00 pm at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church with Dr. L. L. Ruffin officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview directed by Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include: wife, Ann Crum King; six sons, Charles Hatcher, Marvin King, Tony Smith, Frank King III, Robert Crum, Jr., and Michael Edward Johnson; four daughters, Barbara Mosley, Grace King Washington, Karen King Blakely and Delois Smith; one brother, Joseph King; twenty-two grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three sons-in-laws, one daughter-in-law, two brothers-in-laws, two sisters-in-laws; two nephews, one niece, one aunt and mother-in-law.

Lefonnia Steele, age 78, of Autauga County died on April 21, 2006 at Baptist Hospital in Prattville.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Mallard Chapel AME with C.H. Curry officiating. Burial will follow in Mallard Chapel AME Cemetery with Miller Funeral Service directing.

Melissa ‘Pumpkin’ Martin

Melissa “Pumpkin” Martin, age 20, of Selma, Alabama died on April 22, 2006.

Leo Mitchell, age 73, of Selma, AL died on April 27, 2006 at a local hospital.

Price Kinu Durgan, age 1 1/2, died on April 25, 2006 at home.

Survivors include: parents, Latonia Durgan and Michel Mendy; one brother, Love Durgan; grandmother, Sarah Durgan; two aunts, Janice Hall and Sharon Williams; one great aunt, Jerrie Williams; one uncle, Charles Halloway; cousins, Dewayne Williams, Jiya Williams, Lakeshia Williams, Jamecia Williams, Keshonna Williams, Jasmine Hall, Jakira Hall, Laronica Henry, Deshon Henry; and god mother, Deshonda Davis.

Mr. Van Biggs, age 43, of Demopolis, Alabama passed away on April 22, 2006 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 1:00 pm at the Eastern Star Baptist Church in Demopolis, Alabama with Rev. Terry Gosa officiating. Interment will follow in Jerusalem Cemetery in Gallion, Alabama.

The remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 12:00 noon.
