John Hardy

John Hardy, age 76, of Valley Grande, AL passed away April 23, 2006.

Funeral services, with military honors, will be Friday, April 28, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Coates officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 27, 2006, 6-8:00 p.m..

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Sara Evelyn Hardy; his mother, Lilian Rickman Hardy; his father, Samuel Hardy and a brother, Seldon Hardy.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Vines Hardy; six sons, Samuel Wayne Hardy of PA, John Keith Hardy of WA, Ronald Tracy Hardy of PA, Larry Kent Hardy of FL, Michael Norman Hardy of PA, and Russell E. Hardy of Selma, AL; two brothers, Lawrence C. Hardy of NM and Samuel Hardy of NJ; two sisters, Helen Puschell of NJ and Janice Hardy of NJ; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Wayne Hardy, John Keith Hardy, Ronald Tracy Hardy, Larry Kent Hardy, Michael Norman Hardy and Russell E. Hardy.

Mr. Hardy was retired from the USAF after twenty years of service.

He also worked with the Selma Police Department and Dallas County Sheriffs Dept. as an investigator.

Clyde Thomas

Sanders, Jr.

Clyde “Bubba” Sanders, Jr., age 42, died Sunday, April 23, 2006.

Services will be held at 10:00 Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at The Salvation Army Church with Captain Todd Brewer and Captain Donald New officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his mother Sarah Mae Peeples and stepfather Thomas A. “PeeWee” Peeples, daughter; Summer Dawn Sanders, and a son, Harley Dylan Sanders. 3 sisters; Beth (Jim) Forrer, Diane (Steve) Garrett and Renee (Patrick) Hatch. Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends.

Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his father Clyde Thomas Sanders, Sr. and 2 brothers; Zeddie Alfred Sanders and William Jack Sanders.

Pallbearers will be William Sanders, James Cashman, Terry Campbell, Wilbur Sanders, Edward Sanders and Brandon Bickerstaff.

Ruth I. Swindle

Ruth I. Swindle, age 82, of Pensacola, FL, formerly of Marion, AL, died on Friday, April 21, 2006 in Pensacola, FL.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Heiberger United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Heiberger Untied Methodist Church Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm at the church before the service.
