It only took three innings for the Central Christian Warriors to put the game out of reach Monday afternoon against the visiting Open Door Christian Eagles.

CCA posted a 15-0 victory after three innings to improve to 3-8 on the season.

The game ended after three innings not because of the mercy rule which would have come into play – it ended because Open Door coach Alan Whinery pulled his Eagles off the field and put them on the bus headed back to Northport.

During the two and half innings of Warrior offense, CCA pounded out nine hits.

Defensively, CCA senior Bud Shoultz held the Eagle batter at bay through three innings. Shoultz faced 10 batters, recorded eight strikeouts and forced a groundout to secure the no-hitter. He did give up one walk.

Offensively, Shoultz led all batters with a 3-3 day including a pair of doubles and a triple.

Michael Adams was also perfect on the day, 2-2. Keenan Mathis had the big hit of the day with a home run.

Bryan Sanders, Bryan McCary and Phillip Hemphill each had singles in the 15-0 victory.

CCA hits the road this weekend, looking to improve their regional record.

The 1-5 Warriors will travel to Columbiana to face Cornerstone Christian on Friday.
