Barry Glenn Waldrop

Barry Glenn Waldrop, age 50, died March 16, 2006 at home.

Memorial services were held Saturday March 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Church Street United Methodist Church officiated by Rev George Sedberry and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home, Inc.

Mr. Waldrop is survived by his son, Christopher Matthew Waldrop of Mobile, parents, Rex Patton Waldrop and Nita L Waldrop of Selma, brothers, Steven Rex Waldrop of Birmingham, Thomas Keith (Debra) Waldrop of Americus, GA, sister, Alison Elizabeth Stewart of Selma, nephews, Josh Stewart, Patton Waldrop, Mary Elizabeth Chatman, and Thomas Leith Waldrop.

Barry was born in Birmingham and moved with his family to Selma in 1963.

Educated in Selma Public Schools, he attended the University of Alabama and completed his formal education by becoming a Registered Nurse.

He was employed by Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Barry was always an avid reader being particularly interested in everything from Archeology to “Who done its,” but especially ancient history.

He became involved in physical fitness and spent many hours in the gym where he made many friends by whom he will be greatly missed.

Mr. Mark Thompson

Mr. Mark Thompson, age 42, a resident of Lowndesboro, AL, died on Thursday, March 16, 2006.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the Camden APR Church at 11:00 am with Pastor Henry Lewis Smith and Mrs. Claude McRoberts officiating.

Burial was in the Camden Cemetery directed by Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home of Camden.

He is survived by his wife Deborah Speir Thompson of Lowndesboro, AL,; three children, Hannah Elizabeth Thompson, Laura Marie Thompson and Thomas Mark Thompson, Jr. all of Lowndesboror, AL; parents, Wilton & Carolyn Thompson of Greenville, AL; brother, Jeff Thompson of Greenville, AL and mother-in-law, Mary Speir of Camden, AL.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.

The family received friends at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home in Camden on Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm.
