Mr. Buford A. Bamberg

Mr. Buford A. Bamberg, age 73, of Marion, AL died on March 5, 2006 at his home.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Flat Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes directing. Presiding clergy, Rev. Bill Cannon and Rev. Shannon Allen.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Wigger Bamberg of Marion, AL; sons, Richard Allen (Joy) Bamberg of Colorado Springs, CO, Robert Ervin (Denise) Bamberg of Stafford, VA, Randy Owens of Decatur, AL; daughter-in-law, Debbie Bamberg of Selma, AL; sister, Avis Bailey of Centreville, AL; brothers, Berley Bamberg of Marion, AL, Clyde Bamberg of Marion, AL; eleven grandchildren; three living great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, William Keith Bamberg and one great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hope Lodge, 1104 Ireland Way, Birmingham, AL 35209.

Ruth Smith

Ruth Smith, age 81, a resident of Selma, died on March 1, 2006 at a local nursing facility.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church with Pastor Michael A. Henson officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with J. H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

She leaves to honor her memories a loving son, Joseph Smith; daughter-in-law, Shelia Smith; grandson, Joseph O. Smith; granddaughter, Christ Smith; great granddaughter, Kayla Smith; great grandson, Devonte’ Smith; sister, Alice Boone; a host of nieces and nephews; adopted sister, Mattie Gill; goddaughters Lela Underwood and Cathy Lamont; godson, Rev. Glen King; her adopted family, the Underwoods and the loving staff and family of Warren Manor Living Center of Selma.

The body will lie in state from 12:00 noon until the time of the funeral services.

Mary Geneva Collins, age 80, of Selma, AL died on March 6, 2006 at South Haven Nursing Home in Hoover, AL.

Funeral services will be held on March 8, 2006 at First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Survivors include three sons, Walter E. Collins, Jr., Norris Bernard Collins and John Franklin Collins; one daughter, Priscilla C. McKee; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three daughters-in-laws.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

Ernest Lee, 50, of Fort Wayne, IN, formerly of Selma, died on February 28, 2006 in Fort Wayne, IN.

Funeral services scheduled for March 7, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Lebanon, Sardis, AL directed by Miller Funeral Service.
