Alright sportsfans basketball season is finally coming to a close and sitting here on press row at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center it doesn’t look like the Lady Bobcats are going to be able to pull this one out.

But hey, it’s a been a great season for the girls of R.C. Hatch. Uniontown fans don’t fret. The Lady Bobcats are young and have enough talent to be back at the BJCC next year.

Now, with that said &045; on with the show.

revealed several disturbing images of a very foul looking Barry Bonds dressed in drag as part of the annual rookie hazings that take place during spring training.

I’m not going to make any jokes about the &8220;Bar-oness&8221; or &8220;Barry Abdul&8221; or even RuPaul’s distant and uglier cousin from the Castro District.

I just wanted to throw that one out there and let it marinate.

While we are letting things marinate, think about this one sportsfans &045; Roger Clements threw batting practice to a fresh group of farm clubbers a couple of days ago. In that group was the Rocket’s baby boy Koby.

The first pitch the Hall of Fame-bound hurler threw to his pride and joy was deposited in downtown Kissimmee.

Nice way to start your spring training and career by going yard on Clement.

The next time Koby came to the plate, he got brushed back with a high and tight fastball. Which, if you think about it, is only right.

Moving along with the train of thoughts … according to ESPN.com at the end of the first period of the Hatch/Priceville game, it appears that labor talks between the NFL and the Players Association have broken down.

You know, it’s stuff like this that makes me appreciate the college game that much more. I mean, think about it.

You hear once that college football is crooked, you accept and move on. Like Billy Crystal said in &8220;Analyze That&8221; &045; &8220;It’s a process.&8221;

Professional sports have to do something to remind you that the fans are the bi-product of a multi-million dollar industry. The NHL cancelling their season, the MLB striking a few years ago and now, the NFL’s Labor Talks breaking down.

It must be nice to be loaded and not have enough money to feed the wife and kids. But hey, one episode of MTV Cribs will really give you an idea why professional athletes need more money.

Think about it kids. Why does a person need a Hummer with flip down televisions in the back of the seats and two Playstation 2’s or X-box’s?

I know I’m not the world’s best driver, but come on. I can’t read and drive. How can someone play Grand Theft Auto and drive?

Speaking of putting things into perspective, sitting here at the end of the second period, the Bobcats are firmly in control of Priceville, 37-12.

James, who was here covering the girls’ game makes one very good point &045; there are no cheers when you are losing. The Priceville fans are directly behind us and the only thing they can cheer about is how greatly the refs need glasses.
