To the Editor:

Each year, Lockheed Martin prepares proposals for a variety of business opportunities. Many we win, some we don’t. Such is the case with our recent proposal for Initial Flight Screening. During the past year, we’ve formed not only a great business relationship with “Team Selma,” but we’ve also made close friends in the community.

Everyone at Lockheed Martin who has worked with the community on this proposal has been overwhelmed with the individual cooperation and spirit demonstrated by the citizens of Selma, Dallas County and the State of Alabama.

We have requested a briefing on our submission for Initial Flight Screening from the Air Force to ascertain what we could have done better. One thing is certain – we could not have picked a better community than Selma and Dallas County.

Should the opportunity arise to work with “Team Selma,” we will jump at the chance to become a part of your wonderful community. On behalf of everyone at Lockheed Martin, thank you for your support and cooperation.
