Shelby Jean Sheffield

Shelby Jean Sheffield, age 65, of Plantersville passed away Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham.

The family will receive visitors at Kirk Funeral Home in Marion on Monday, January 23, 2006 from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 11:00 am at Ivey’s Chapel Church in Sprott, Alabama. Directed by Kirk Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband, William “Pete” Sheffield, Plantersville, AL; 5 children Romona Cook, Concord, GA, Danie Nichols, Plantersville, Rob Sheffield, Plantersville, Andy Sheffield, Selma and Ann Davis, Clanton; 2 daughters-in-law, Ginnie (Champion) Sheffield, Plantersville, Amanda (Aultman) Sheffield, Selma; 2 sons-in-law, Bobby Nichols, Plantersville and Jason Davis, Clanton; 15 grandchildren, Robert Wayne Cook, CA; Eric Cook, CA, Donivan Gibbs, Griffin, GA, Lisa Whetstone, Griffin, GA, Jeffrey Gibbs, Thomaston, GA, Nikki Arrington, Birmingham, AL, Jessica Arrington, Plantersville, AL, Daniel Nichols, Plantersville, AL, Cheyenne Sheffield, Plantersville, AL, Brooke Sheffield, Plantersville, AL, Taylor Sheffield, Plantersville, AL, Katelyn Sheffield, Selma, AL, Dustin Sheffield, Selma, AL, Breanna Davis, Clanton, AL and Lillian Davis, Clanton, AL; 5 great grandchildren, Davain Gibbs, Selma, AL, Todd Gibbs, Selma, AL, Vincent Whetstone, Griffin, GA, Mackenize Whetstone, Griffin, GA, Skylar Gibbs, Thomaston, GA; 3 sisters, Wanda Monk, Tuscaloosa, AL, Robbie McCray, Birmingham, AL, Debra Holsonback, Gordo, AL; and 1 brother, Calman Sheffield, MS.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Woodrow and Mildred Pearson, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, both of whom passed away in 2000, and her oldest son, Billy Wayne Cook of Laughlin, Nevada, who passed away in 1995.

Acting as pallbearers will be Keith Eiland, Doug Vance, John James, Jeffrey Gibbs, Daniel Nichols, Casey Holsonback, Matt Holsonback and Larry Colburn.

Doug Vance will be officiating the burial service.

Richard Alan Holland

Richard “Ricky” Alan Holland, age 53, was called away to be with his Lord on Sunday January 22, 2006 after a brief illness. He was born on May 25, 1952.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at the Chapel of the Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home performed by Brother James McDonald. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Jones Holland, his parents, Doris and Homer Holland, three brothers, Michael (Carol) Holland of Plano, TX, David Holland of New York City, NY and Robert Holland of Birmingham, AL. He is also survived by a nephew, Shero (Tyna) Holland of Tempe, AZ and a niece, Melissa (Sean) Roach of Savannah, TX and a great nephew, Ethan Roach of Savannah, TX, aunts and uncles, Judy (David) Bagby, Jerrine (Bobby) Crawford, Fran (Don) Davis all of Selma and Thelma (Frank) Fair of Florence, AL and a host of cousins.

Pallbearers are Louie Adkinson, David Bagby, Chuck Bagby, David Barlow, Buford Crawford, Bobby Crawford, Don Davis, David Jones, Steve Tidwell and Mel Parker.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Summerfield Road Church of Christ Children’s Fund.
