Minister Larry Bean

Minister Larry Bean, 60, of Selma, Alabama died January 10, 2006 at his residence.

Services are scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2006 at 11:00am at the Mechanic Street Church of Christ. Officiated by Brother Tildon Hunter, Sr. Burial in Fair Lawn Memorial Garden. Directed by Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include, mother, Augusta Bell Bean; one son, Larry Thomas Bean, Jr.; two daughters, April Bean Kemp and Carla Bean Thomas; one brother, John Henry Bean; three step brothers, Melvin, Denaz and Michael Bean; one sister, Grace Ann Peoples; two grandsons, David Jr. and Devin Thomas; two sons-in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Georgia Jackson Chames

Georgia Jackson Chames, 100, of Minter, AL died January

12, 2006 at a local nursing home.

Services are scheduled for January 15, 2006 at 1:00pm at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Boykins. Burial in church cemetery.

She is survived by one cousin, Theodore Carter and other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Willie Walker, Theodore Carter, Bob Gilchrist, Nathaniel Reeves and Richard Sprague.

She was born on July 13, 1905 in Pineapple, Alabama, Wilcox County to Carrie Harris and Henry Jackson. She had on brother, Willie, whom she raised when her mother died in 1919. Her family later moved to Dallas County to the Kings Landing area. She was married to Seymour Chames. She had no children. She had lived in Minter area since 1970 and she was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.

Annie M. Hopkins

Annie M. Hopkins, 95, a resident of Selma, died Sunday, January 11, 2006 at Vaughan Medical Center.

Services are scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2006 at 12 noon at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev.. R.T. Morton officiating. Burial will be held in Fairlawn Memory Garden, directed by J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home.

Larry Glass

Larry Glass, 55, of Orrville, AL died January 12, 2006.

Services will be announced at a later date by Miller Funeral Service.

Elmer Lee Kynard

Elmer Lee Kynard, 71, died Saturday, January 14, 2006 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2006 at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Johnathon Lambert officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Mr. Kynard was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Kynard and Elizabeth Colb Kynard; four brothers, Charles, Billy, and Emmett Kynard and Coolage Cobb; one sister, Hazel Ingram.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Alma Lee Smith Kynard; three sisters, Francis Bowden, Bernice Gill (Henry), and Mary Moore (Bill); a dear friend, Virginia Harrison; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Southcare Hospice of Demopolis and Dr. Fahoeim and staff. Active Pallbearers will be Billy Bundy, Tommy Swindle, Billy Swindle, Don Powell, Wayne Moore, and Billy Jerrell Kyndard.

Mona Lisa Blevins

Mona Lisa Blevins, 33, of Selma, AL died January 11, 2006 at home.

Services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at 2:00pm at the Miller Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Herbert Allen. Burial in Elmwood. Directed by Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Tomeka Michelle Blevins, LaSunda Lee Blevins and Hiya Marshey Blevins. Pallbearers will be her cousins.

Andrew J. Banks

Andrew J. Banks died Saturday, January 14, 2006 at his home. Graveside services will be held at Pineview Memory Gardens on Monday, January 16, 2006 at 3 p.m.

Family visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Survivors will be announced at a later time by Lawrence Funeral Home.

Jerry Lee Black

Jerry Lee Black, 64, a resident of Selma, passed January 11, 2006 at his residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home.

Margaret Lois

Branch Green

Margaret Lois Branch Green, of Birmingham, passed away January 11, 2006.

Margaret will always be remembered for her kind spirit, her delightful generosity, and her love of dance.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy W. Branch of Birmingham.

She is survived by her son, Adam W. (Kelly) Green; her daughter, Carrie Elizabeth of Los Angeles, CA and two grandchildren, John Martin and Margaret Leigh. She is also survived by her brothers, David (Shirley) Branch of Cullman and Clay (Kim) Branch of Atlanta, GA.; sister, Elizabeth Lee Stewart of Birmingham and four nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 2:00pm at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request any donations to be made to SABRA Sanctuary of Selma, Alabama.

William Clayton Moseley

William Clayton Moseley died Friday, January 13, 2006 in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2006 at the Chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. George Jones officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Moseley is survived by a brother, Marcus C. (Ruby) Moseley; Sister-in-law, Kathryn McIntyre Goodson of Dothan; Niece, Lisa Peter of Dothan; Nephew, Jeff Goodson of Dothan; Six great nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Carol and Clara Moseley; Brother, Carol Bonnie Moseley, Jr.; Sister, Clara Ann Moseley; Wife, Doris McIntyre Moseley.

Pallbearers will be Richard Goodson, Jeff Goodson, Tim Peter, Tommie Moseley, Jr., Harold Moseley and Keith Moseley.

Family visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Rebecca Norris, 91, of Birmingham, AL, formerly from Selma, AL, died January 12, 2006 at Greenbrier Nursing Facility.
