R.C. Hatch (13-2) is currently ranked No. 4 in class 2A and after the first two rounds of the Wilcox Central Tournament, any questions about that ranking should have been removed.
The Bobcats notched their 13th victory of the season Friday with a 63-52 win over the Bears of Keith High School.
In the opening game of the tournament, Hatch’s Frankie Sullivan suffered an injury that knocked him out of the Bobcats’ second round game against Keith.
Sullivan has been averaging 23 points a game for Hatch.
With Sullivan on the bench, the Bobcats duo of Calvin Pope and Phillip
Johnson stepped up and took control of the game.
Pope recorded another double-double on the season with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Johnson finished the night with 21 points and five boards.
Demarcus Porter also provided a defensive spark for the Bobcats.
