MARION &045; The MMI Lady Tigers jumped out of the gates early and coasted to a 56-19 win over the Central Christian Lady Warriors.

It took only eight minutes to seal the victory and remain undefeated for the season.

MMI, ranked No. 4 in the state by the Alabama Sportswriters Association, put up 28 points in the opening quarter. Junior Emily Easley scored 17 points in the quarter, hitting 8-of-8 from the floor including a 3-pointer.

“Our plan was to start strong,&8221; said Lady Tiger coach Michelle Ivey. “We knew they like to press, so we wanted to make a statement in the first quarter.”

Easley finished with 26 points. Senior Felicia Sprott added 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
