Louise Porter Scarborough, born July 4, 1919 at Scotts Station, Alabama, a resident of Perry County and most recently of Tallassee, Alabama, departed this life November 29th.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 2nd at Marion United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Friday at 1:00p.m. in the Chapel at the church.

Louise is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph T. Scarborough; their three children: Joseph T. (Alunda) Scarborough, Jr., Tallassee, Alabama; Don P. (Becky) Scarborough, Auburn, Alabama; and Betty S. (Mark) Jagoe, Lovettsville,Virginia; six grandchildren: Joseph T. “Joey” Scarborough, III; Elizabeth S. (Beth and Byron) Thornhill; Thomas M. “Tom”. Scarborough; Don P. “Bo”. Scarborough, Jr; Marcellus H. “Marc” Jagoe, V; and, Amanda Kate “Kate” Jagoe; and one brother: Joseph J. (Joe and Robbie) Porter, Dothan, Alabama.

Louise graduated from Uniontown High

School, received her B.A Degree from Judson College and obtained a Masters of Education from the University of Alabama.

In 1952, Louise and Joe established Starlight Dairy Farm in the Scotts Station community of Perry County.

Louise began her career in public education in 1962 as the senior high English teacher at Uniontown High School; she then worked within the Marion City School System as senior high English teacher at Francis Marion High

School, where she retired in 1985.

In 2002, Louise and Joe moved to Tallassee, Alabama
