Jeff Easley of Marion was arrested again on Thursday for failure to appear in court to face charges related to his previous drug arrest in August.

Easley is charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance stemming from a Fourth Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force investigation.

He was also wanted for questioning concerning a burglary/assault case in Marion.

Easley was the subject of investigation for DTF agents for over a year.

Easley is described by Arrington as a popular person in Marion.

The Demopolis Times reported that Easley was a supporter of Marion Mayor Anthony Long. The Times also reported that Easley was employed by Long from time to time, doing odd jobs.

Easley was being held in the Perry County Jail on a $40,000 bond, which he apparently made. He was scheduled to appear in court last week and a warrant was issued when he didn’t show up.

DTF agent Larry Colston and acting Marion Police Chief Jack Nelson arrested the 43-year-old the second time.

We’re filing a motion to revoke his bond.

The new charges are not drug related.
