The outcome of Central Christian’s game against Marion was never in doubt. The varsity boys Warriors raced ahead of their competition 11-0. Following the Panthers’ first basket they continued to push their lead to 21-3 when a Panther free throw stopped the run. That continued to be the story of the game down the stretch. Central Christian led by as many as 39 in the second half before finally ending the game the 58-31.

Depth is not a problem for Rawls and his Central Christian squad, experience, however is. This year, he has an eighth grader and two ninth graders starting on his varsity.

The Warriors were led offensively by junior Eric Curtis with 17 points, most of which came in the first half. Henry Sherrer pitched in nine points and Bryant Rawls finished the night with eight.

For Marion, Carlos Farley was the leading scorer with 12 points. Spencer Dufour followed with 11 points.

This was also the first area game and victory for the Warriors, who were defeated by the West Alabama Titans on Tuesday.
