Reports say the slaying occurred between 11:30 and 11:59 late Friday night.

The police report shows that a possible 9 mm semi-automatic handgun may have been used in the shooting.

Martin said he couldn’t comment on the motive behind the shooting, citing the ongoing investigation.

Reports listed Coleman’s residence at 107 Alabama Highway 219.

He was known to work as a barber.

His car, a four-door, black 1993 Geo Prizm, was found at the residence.

Information about the two victims and their relationship to each other was unavailable as of presstime.

Martin said his department is making progress on the killing already.

Harrell’s and Coleman’s deaths are the eight and ninth slayings reported in Selma this year, according to Times-Journal records.
