Friday night, competition between the Rebels of South Choctaw and the Meadowview Christian Trojans ended with the Rebels beating the Trojans, 26-16.

The game started with no team scoring in the first quarter.

The Trojans got on the scoreboard during the first part of the 2nd quarter when Austin Denise kicked a field goal to end the Trojans’ drive. The Rebels did not answer until the latter part of the second quarter. Their answer came in the form of a touchdown. The Rebs missed the point after, forcing the tally to stay 6-3 until the half.

Meadowview started with the ball at the Rebels 31 and Landon Mehan was able to punch it in from the 4 yard line for the touchdown. The lead, however, was short lived.

On their next possession, the Rebels were able to get it in the end zone for a touchdown.

The fourth quarter began with the Rebels adding on to their score by putting another touchdown on the scoreboard.

MCS was able to come back and put another TD on the board.

Dustin Lee caught an 8-yard pass from quarterback Blake Smith. The Trojan offense tried for the 2 point conversation and was unable to get it in the end zone.

The Rebels from South Choctaw were able to put one more TD on the scoreboard.

Meadowview was marching down the field but were unable to reach the end zone and gave it back to the Rebels.

The running game for the Trojans seemed to be the leading component of this team.

With Mehan and Lee serving as leading rushers, the offense had a total of 191 rushing yards and 25 passing yards. They totaled 216 yards for the game.

The loss is Meadowview’s third on the season, but it was their first non-regional loss. It is still not known whether the Trojans will stay home or travel in the first round of the playoffs.
