Greensboro Public Raiders (3-4) @ Dallas County Hornets (2-5)

Coaches: Michael Reynolds | Eric Hiott

Breakdown: The Raiders come into Friday’s game as part of a four-way tie for the last two slots in Region 4. The Dallas County Hornets, have nothing to lose coming into Friday’s game. Last week, they fell into a two-way tie for last place in the region after losing to Southside High School. The Hornets have one regional game remaining on their schedule after Greensboro.

Location: Dallas County High School in Plantersville

Southside High School Panthers (3-4) @ Livingston High School Tigers (2-5)

Coaches: Christopher Raymond | Scottie Jones

Breakdown: Southside lost to rival Selma High (20-0) to open their season and then allowed two costly turnovers stop their chance at a comeback against Greensboro (18-12). The Panthers were able to notch their first win in week three defeating Greene County (53-28) at home. The Panthers recorded their third loss of the season two weeks ago against regional foe Jemison on the road. But rebounded for a week five victory over Central High School at Hayneville before posting their fourth loss of the season against Demopolis. Last week, they added another win to their record, beating Dallas County. They are currently part of a four-way tie for the last two playoff slots in the region. Livingston is currently in last place in Region Four and have pretty much broken out the basketball jerseys.

Hale County High School Wildcats (0-7) @ Keith High School Bears (1-6)

Coaches: Chris Hilliker | Harry Crum

Breakdown: Both of these teams are playing for pride as the playoff slots in Region 4 are pretty much set. Keith is currently in sixth place in the region and Hale County is in a tie for eighth.

Isabella High School Mustangs (0-7) @ Maplesville High School Red Devils (5-2)

Coaches:

Ty Riggins | Brent Hubbert

Breakdown: The Red Devils notched an early season win over Dallas County in week one, but fell in week two to Autaugaville. Hubbert’s squad bounced back in week three for a their first regional win of the season against Verbena and then their second regional win against Notasulga. The Red Devils stepped out of regional competition to face and defeat Calera on the road. Then last week, tightened their grasp on the number two slot in the region with a win over Saint Jude in Montgomery. The Red Devils however, fell into No. 3 week, losing to Loachapoka.

Monroe County High School Tigers (2-5) @ Wilcox Central High School Jaguars (2-5)

Coaches: Arthur Davis | John Moton

Breakdown: Both teams come into the game with the same record of 2-5. The regional records, however tell a different story. Monroe County is currently last place in the region with zero regional wins this season. Wilcox Central is currently in sixth place, with only one regional win.

Monroe Academy Volunteers (1-6) @ Morgan Academy Senators (5-1)

Coaches: Joe Nettles | Robert Gartman

Breakdown:

The Volunteers missed the playoffs last year and are out of the hunt this year as well. So far their only win this season was a victory over Hooper Christian on Sept. 16. The Morgan Academy Senators notched their first victory of the season over a downtrodden Lee-Scott squad (40-10), improving them to 1-1 after their opening week loss to Edgewood Academy (24-12). The Senators continued their winning ways by pitching a shutout against Glenwood (34-0) in week three. In week four the Senators secured a slot atop the regional standings with a victory over perennial foe, Faith Academy (21-13).

Last week the Senators racked up another regional win with a shutout win at Hooper Christian Academy and then rolled through Mobile Christian on homecoming.

Escambia Academy Cougars (6-1) @ Meadowview Christian School Trojans (5-2)

Coaches: Heath Gibson | Rick Jackson

Breakdown: Friday’s game is big for both teams. If Escambia wins, it gives them the regional title outright and sends the Trojans on the road for the first round of the AISA playoffs. A win by Meadowview will put the Trojans in the No. 2 slot behind Escambia and send the Kingwood Christian Lions on the road for the first round of the playoffs.

Jackson Academy Eagles (4-3) @ Wilcox Academy Wildcats (3-3)

Coaches: Jamiee Atchison | Chris Burford

Breakdown:

This game is going to have playoff implications for both teams. Jackson comes into the game after winning a shootout with South Choctaw and are looking at fighting for the fourth slot in the regional standings. Wilcox opened the season with a narrow defeat of the Monroe Volunteers but suffered back-to-back regional losses to Tuscaloosa Academy and then to Clarke Prep. The Wildcats found their confidence, somewhat last Friday with a 34-22 defeat of Marion Military. The Wildcats rolled a second straight victory on homecoming last week against the Pirates of Pickens Academy. But fell last week to Patrician in Butler.
