Mildred Louise Smith

Mildred Louise Smith, age 42, formerly of Selma, died September 29, 2005 at her residence in Snellville, GA.

Services are scheduled for October 8, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sandridge Baptist Church-River Road with Rev. M. E. Brown, Officiating.

Burial will be in the church yard cemetery. Millers Funeral Service Directing.

Mildred was a 1981 graduate of Selma High School, she later graduated from George C. Wallace Community College in Selma, AL.

Mildred moved to Birmingham, AL where she attended the University of Alabama and received her degree in Medical Records.

After graduation she worked at the University Hospital for 13 years. She later moved to Georgia where she worked for Emory Hospital, Parisian and her present job was with MCI.

Mildred leaves behind to cherish her memories: one son, Brandon Smith, Selma, AL; her parents, Frank and Mollie Smith, Sr., Selma, AL; three brothers, Virgil Parker, Redwood, CA; Frank Smith, Jr., Conyer, GA; Micheal Smith, Covington, GA; one sister, Annie Ree Johnson, Japan; two sister- in- laws; one brother-in-law; A host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Michael Harrison, Tossie Colley, Tony Coultier, Rishah Colley, Damon Lee and Sammuel Colley, Jr.

Sylvester E. Lawson

Sylvester E. Lawson, 61, passed away October 1, 2005 in Mobile, Al.

He was reared in Selma.

He attended R.B. Hudson High School and graduated with honors in 1963.

He also attended Alabama State University.

He was preceded in death by his father Mr. Sylvester E. Lawson and mother Joella Lawson.

He is survived by a loving sister Leola Lawson Dixon; a niece Cassandra D. Stewart; three nephews Glen T. Lawson, Labarron A. Lawson and Dwight A. Lawson; five great nephews Rickey Dixon, Ladarron Dixon, Kobe Dixon, Jacori Dixon and Dwight Dixon Jr.; two great nieces, Shateera Dixon and Camalk Dixon; A devoted friend Ronald Dixon.

He devoted his life to his family, talents and to the church.

He attended morning Star Baptist Church.

He was well known for his true gifts from God, singing and teaching dance.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral arrangements have been set for Saturday, October 8 in Mobile, Al.
