Sandra Garza

God called his precious angel, Sandra Garza, home on September 22, 2005.

She was born December 27, 1965.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, 2005, at 12.00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George K. Jones, Sr. officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 29, 2005, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home.

She is survived by one son, George William Perry, Jr. of Selma, AL; two daughters, Virginia Mulford and Melissa Mulford both of El Campo, TX; two sisters, Bonnie Potts Garza and husband Lorenzo of Houston, TX and Barbara Starkey of Texas City, TX; three brothers, Ernest Potts, Jr. of Birmingham, AL, Eugene Potts of Birmingham, AL and Ernest James Potts of Fort Worth, TX; an aunt, Jathian Hutchens and husband Grady of Grand Junction, TN; two uncles, David Hanna and Aunt Frankie of Selma, AL and Frank Hanna and wife, Chris of Joliet, IL; one grandchild; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Potts, Sr.; her mother Sally Hanna Dykes and her brother, Michael Potts.

Pallbearers will be William George Perry, Sr., Randy Hanna, David Hanna, Grady Hutchens, Lorenzo Garza and Ernest M. Polls. Jr.

Eddie James Allen

Eddie James Allen, died Sunday, September 25, 2005, in Chicago, Ill.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2005, with Acklin Funeral Services, 1325 West 87th St. directing.

Survivors include a devoted wife, Mary Bryant Allen; two daughters, Brunetta Hatcher and Kaimesha Allen; sisters, Lillie K. Martin of Marion Jct., Rosie K. Montgomery of Birmingham, Al, Mary K. Patrick (Everson) of Union Springs, Al, Hattie K. Smith of Portland, Ore., and Jacqueline K. Briggins (Eugene) of Marion Jct.; a devoted brother, Robert L. King (Priscilla) of Marion Jct., and Willie J. King of Montgomery; brother-in-law, Herbert Leon Blackmon; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Robert L. and Lula M. Allen King, one sister, Viola K. Blackmon.

Mr. Allen was the grandson of the late Will and Carrie Allen.

Viola Reeves

Viola Reeves, 74, of Minter, died Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at a local hospital.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Walker Mortuary.

Margurite Friday Hampsher, age 81, of Selma, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2005.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Smith officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2005.

She is survived by her husband, James L. Hampsher; one son, James F. (Buddy) Hampsher; two daughters, Karen H. (Kim) Ballard and Carol H. Booker; and three grandchildren, Shelley Patterson, Paul M. Booker and Michael W. Hampsher.

Mrs. Hampsher was preceded in death by her parents, LaVester and Lena Friday.

Pallbearers will be Kim Ballard, George Edwards, Joe Friday, Steve Friday, Bruce Cook and Mickey Patterson.

Mrs. Hampsher was a Pink Lady Volunteer and a member of the Gleaner’s Sunday School Class at Fairview Baptist Church.
