For hunters who are looking for the opportunity to introduce children to the sport, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has made it easy, thanks to their Step Outside Youth Program.

Beginning Sept. 10 and running through Oct. 22, Conservation and Natural Resourse offices throughout the state of Alabama will be sponsoring dove hunts and shoots at various locations.

Dallas County will be holding two – Sept. 10 and Sept. 17- at the Auburn University Experiment Station near Browns.

Cost to participate in a hunt is free, but the limit is 25 groups and is on a first come – first served basis. According to Cook, a group will be defined as one adult over the age of 25 with a valid hunting license and up to two youths younger than 16-years-old.
