Paralee Edwards

Paralee Edwards, 61, of Selma, died Sunday, August 28, 2005, at a local nursing home.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005, at Brien Chapel AME Church in Burnsville, with the Rev. Joann Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one son, Joseph Edwards; four daughters, Lisa Crumpton (Marcus), Barbara Shark (Kevin), Leovetta Childrey (Luke IV) and Jessica Walker (Edward Sr.); one sister, Jennie Strong; eight grandchildren; four sons-in-law; one brother-in-law; and five sisters-in-law.

Active pallbearers are Marcus Crumpton, Luke Childrey IV, Kevin Shark and Edward Walker.

Sarah Seymore Rush

Sarah Seymore Rush, age 84, of Valley Grande, AL passed away Thursday, September 1, 2005.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 3, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Hatcher officiating and Selma Funeral directing. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2005, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Leo Rush; one son, Jerry (Hazel) Rush of Valley Grande, AL; one daughter, Peggy (Ciegel) Miley of Valley Grande, AL; two brothers, Wallace (Lorene) Seymore of Birmingham, AL and Johnny (Nell) Seymore of Girlie, AL; one sister, Maggie Seymore of Spartenburg, SC; seven grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, two brothers, one grandson and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Don Jones, Terry Hughes, Berry Vines, Bruce Hutton, Charles Gullett, W. D. Beaty and Alvis Frith.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Northside Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rush was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church.

Noah Draine Sr.

Noah Draine Sr., 59, of Dallas County, died Friday, August 26, 2005, at a healthcare facility.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, September 3, at Ellwood Community Church with Rev. Cleopha Pair officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Janie Richardson, 49, a resident of Ft. Deposit, AL died August 23, 2005.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Brown and Johnny Brown; five daughters, Eula Brown, Gloria Brown, Minnie Brown, Ethel Brown and Rosie (Eugene) Harrell; one brother, Johnny C. Brown; one sister, Bessie M. Lewis; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Margaret (Margie)

Moseley McDonald

Margaret (Margie) Moseley McDonald of Marion, Alabama, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005.

Margie was born August 27, 1909 in Montgomery, Alabama, daughter of the late John Houston Moseley and Ora Belle Boozer.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a dedicated first grade school teacher. Margie attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Livingston State’ College (West Alabama University).

She taught in the Thomaston, Moundville and Marion, Alabama school systems.

A member of Siloam Baptist Church for 63 years, Margie was active in the WMU and taught the First and Second Grade Sunday School classes for 60 years.

During her 63 year residency in Marion, Margie was a member of numerous service organizations including Inter Se, Garden Club and Sewing Club.

She loved bridge and was a member of several local bridge clubs and the Alabama 60+ Golf Bridge Group.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Raymond Jefferson McDonald; four daughters; Margaret McDonald of Birmingham, Alabama; Barbara Mitchell of Mechanicsville, Virginia; Carolyn Starling of Richmond, Virginia; and Frances Quick of Columbus, Georgia; four sons-in-law: William Max McDonald, Frank Salla Mitchell, Ralph L. Starling, Jr. and Burnet Rea Quick; seven grandchildren. Paige McDonald of Tampa, Florida, Donald Slappey, Jr. (Beth) of Houston, Texas, Charlotte MitchhelI of Chartotte, North Carolina, Raymond Slappey (Trina) of Albertville, Alabama, Susan Mitchell Keesecker (Richard) of Frisco, Texas, Shannon Quick of Columbus, Georgia and Jeffery Quick of New York. New York&8221;, two great-grandchildren: Annika and Ethan Keesecker of Frisco, Texas; three sisters, Eva Belle Woolf of Myrtlewood, Alabama, Bessie Meadow of Nashville, Tennessee, and Mattie Pearl Mason of Linden, Alabama; and one brother, Falcon Winston Moseley of Thomaston, Alabama.

Her parents, two brothers. Homer Moseley and Albert Moseley, two nephews, Edward H. Moseley and W. Rollin Moseley, and one niece, Ann Mason Pendergrass, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2005 from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM in the parlors of Siloam Baptist Church, Marion, Alabama.

The funeral service will follow in the sanctuary at 2:00 PM.

Graveside services will be at the Thomaston Cemetery, Thomaston, Alabama, at 4:00 PM.

Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel will direct the services.

William Kenneth &8220;Ken&8221; Bailey, age 45, of Alberta, AL passed away August 31, 2005.

Visitation will be prior to the service at 1:30-3:00 p.m.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca &8220;Becky&8221; Bailey of Alberta, AL; one son, Josh Bailey of Orange Beach, AL; mother-in-law, Mamie Jean Skipper; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous other relatives.

He is also survived by his loving pets, Abby, Buster, Blue, and Katie.
