James Earl Horton

James Earl Horton, age 54, of Selma, AL, passed away Monday, August 22, 2005, at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Fancher officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Interment will be at New Live Oak Cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Catherine Horton; three sons, Donald (Kim) Horton of Selma, AL, Jason (Rayne) Horton of Prattville, AL and Blake (Candice) Horton of Robertsdale, AL; one brother, Donald Lynn of Valley Grande, AL; three sisters, Betty Jean Foxhall of Prattville, AL, Rhonda Sanders of Crestview, FL and Jenny Conque of Jemison, AL; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Roger Campbell, Mike Kynard, Charles Shoultz, Kirk Jones, Willis Scurlock and Paul Smitherman.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Christian Motorcycle Association.

Cynthia Coburn Lenoir

Cynthia Coburn Lenior, 42, of Maplesville, AL, died Monday, August 22, 2005, at a healthcare facility.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at Jones Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Jones Baptist Cemetery, Jones, Alabama, with Martin Funeral Home directing.

She was born September 21, 1962, in Montgomery County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Judson M. Coburn, Jr. and Elizabeth Ann Payton Coburn.

Surviving are two sons, Mr. James Wendell Lenoir, Jr. and Mr. Zachery Coburn Lenoir both of Maplesville, AL; daughter, Ms. Cecilia Dawn Lenoir of Maplesville, AL; father, Mr. Judson Coburn, Jr. of Prattville, AL; mother, Mrs. Ann Coburn of Prattville, AL; three brothers, Mr. Carl Coburn, Mr. Judson Coburn, III and Mr. Chris Coburn all of Prattville, AL; sister, Mrs. Shelia Thompson of Prattville, AL; several nieces and nephews.

Aubrey Elbert Sturgis Jr.

Aubrey Elbert Sturgis Jr., 77, of Marion, AL, died Wednesday, August 23, 2005, at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2005, at Siloam Baptist Church. Interment will be at Rogers Cemetery, Letohatchee, AL, with Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing.

Effie Mae Gandy

Effie Mae Gandy, 87, of Maplesville, AL, died Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at her residence.

Services will be held at Maplesville United Methodist Church, Thursday, August 25, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Edwin Cumbie, Rev. Ty Parten, and Rev. Billy Driver officiating. Interment will follow in the Maplesville Cemetery, Maplesville, AL.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Clanton, Alabama.

Surviving are son, Mr. Leighton Gaudy of Selma, AL; daughter, Mrs. Jewel Leevon (Johnny) Smith of Stanton, AL; brother, Mr. Clint N. Wright of Selma, AL; sister, Mrs. Vestelle Aungst of Panama City, FL; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gandy was a homemaker. She was born June 26, 1918, in Perry County, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Reuben Wright and the late Iola Lovett Wright.
