LaCarlos Harvest has a simple goal for Francis Marion High School: let the state know that there is more than basketball played at FMHS.

Harvest was recently named the head coach of the Rams football team and has already made it clear what he expects. "Discipline, leadership and attention to detail,&uot; said Harvest.

Harvest comes to Francis Marion by way of Stillman College.

While at Stillman, he was noticed by Albert Turner of Marion.

When taking the helm of the Rams program, he knew he had his work cutout.

But his goal is to change basketball-only school stigma.

Harvest, who has a degree in physical education with a minor in psychology, has another goal for the kids on his football.

Harvest is instilling in his kids that knowledge that academics are everything.

Harvest, who has been working with the football program and the school for a little over four weeks is pleased with the support that he has gotten from the community.

But what I plan to do with this football team I need to have the community behind me at all times.&uot;
