Timothy Leander Bjelke

Timothy Leander Bjelke, 47, died Sunday, August 14, 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, August 18, 2005 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Carroll Plourde and Rev. Joe Knight officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.

Family visitation will be Wednesday, August 17, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his cherished and adored wife of 26 years, Pam F. Bjelke; mother, Ann Bjelke; special angel daughter, Emilee Bjelke of Birmingham; sisters, Frances B. (Charles) DeBray of Nashville, Monica and Rosalie Bjelke; brothers, Tony (Ruth) Bjelke, Thomas (Kathy) Bjelke, twin brother Greg (Jane) Bjelke; mother-in-law, Nell Fossett; special niece, Jennifer and special nephew, Jason; adopted niece & nephew, Erik Consuegra & Brittany Consuegra; sister-in-law, Charlotte (Russ) Brisson of Lawrenceville, GA; nephews, Corey & Craig Brisson & Amsie (Stacy) Owens; niece, Courtney (Brian) Gallion.

Mr. Bjelke was preceded in death by his father, John Bjelke and his niece, Norahann Bjelke. Memorial gifts may be made to the Historic Preservation Society, the Elks Lodge Scholarship Fund, Friends of the Library, American Heart Association, or a charity of choice.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Bobby Brown, Larry Herrod, Sonny Gibbs, Richard Wilson, Paul Duke, Mike Cutler, Frankie Rogers, and Paul DeLucas.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Selma Elks Lodge 167 and Keenan’s Mill Historic Preservation Society.

He was an active member of Selma Elks Lodge 167 and Selma-Dallas County Historic Preservation Society.

Tim was known and loved by many people. He loved life and lived it to it’s fullest.

His main goal in life was to make sure everyone else was happy.

Those who knew him never saw another side. He always had time for others.

He was dedicated to God, Country and family, thus his endless hours of undying love to what the Elks Club stands for.

He loved our city and volunteered joyfully in preserving it.

Tim will be sadly missed by all, but never forgotten.

He was a humble, giving servant. He asked for nothing … He gave everything.

Mary Stern

Mary Stern, 102, of Demopolis, passed Sunday, August 14, 2005, at a Demopolis nursing home.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Thursday, August 18, 2005, at Petty’s Memorial AME Zion Church in Demopolis, with the Rev. Anita Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery, Demopolis.

The body will lie in state at the church on Thursday, beginning at 11 a.m. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, entrusted with arrangements.

Icola Burks

Icola Burks, 68, of Selma, AL. died Tuesday, August 9, 2005, at a local

hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2005, at Christian Light Baptist Church in Safford, with the Rev. Nathaniel Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Baby Boy Ethan Moss

Baby Boy Ethan Moss, of Selma, passed Saturday, August 13, 2005.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, at Fairlawn Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Willie Martin

Willie Martin, of Selma, passed Sunday, August 14, 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 20, at Selmont Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Ida Sigler

Ida Sigler of Tyler, passed Wednesday, August 10, 2005.
