Craig gets Tier I

Economic officials will announce the arrival of a major automotive parts supplier to the Hyundai plant in Hope Hull today at 10 a.m. at the St. James Hotel.

Governor Bob Riley is committed to be on hand as well as company officials for the announcement.

Though local economic officials have not released the name of the company, the Times-Journal has confirmed through multiple sources that the company is Hanil E-HWA Interior Systems.

The Korea-based company will be located in the old American Candy Building at Craig Field Industrial Park.

Though official totals have not been released, the Tier I Hyundai supplier is expected to bring a substantial number of jobs to the area.

City and County officials declined to give further information to the Montgomery Advertiser earlier in the week, but Probate Judge Johnny Jones was quoted as saying,&8221; It’s a major announcement for us, and we are really excited (about it).&8221;

According to the company’s Web site, Hanil E-HWA specializes in total car interiors.

Established on April 21, 1972, Hanil E-HWA produces door trim, head lining, rear shelf and seat assembly products.

It employs 787 people in branch offices in four counties and 15 factories, according to the Web Site.

According to the site, Hanil E-HWA Co., Ltd., leading the Korean automotive interior industry, is producing competitive products with core technologies and sensibility quality based on the management philosophy of meeting customers’ requirements through human respect and creative management.

Furthermore, it continues to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of quality management system in order to meet the requirements of customers home and abroad.

At today’s press conference, Riley, company and local officials will discuss the process of bringing Hanil E-HWA to Selma.

Dallas County already has Renosol Corp. and Lear Kyungshin, a pair of Hyundai suppliers.

HL-A is the county’s fourth automotive supplier.

Hanil E-HWA is the third Hyundai supplier to locate in Dallas County.

The industrial access that will connect the parks to Highway 80

will aid these companies in getting their parts to the Hope Hull.
