Debra Brock has been working at the district attorney’s office for the last three-and-a-half years, and she’s enjoying it.

As the office financial officer, she’s got a lot more to do than keep up with the money.

She said she handles all the financial information, keeps up with the office’s payroll, handles child support payments, orders office supplies, helps with the witness list, works on motions and stretches the taxpayer’s dollar as far as they will go.

Brock is a lifelong Selma resident and she can’t imagine being anywhere else.

While working at the district attorney’s office keeps her busy, when she’s not at the office she likes to spend time with her family and enjoy the city she lives in, she said.

Brock said she enjoys the city most in the springtime.

Both her daughters – 18-year-old twins – are going to college in the fall, at Shelton State in Tuscaloosa.

When she isn’t stopping to smell the flowers, are getting her daughters prepared for college, Brock does what everyone does: watches TV.

Her favorite show, &8220;ER,&8221; has been a pleasure since it began.

She still watches religiously.
