Marjorie Lloyd

Marjorie Lloyd, beloved wife, mother and grandmother entered heaven Sunday, July 31, 2005.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Watt Lloyd.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Kathryn L. Cooper (Paul &8220;Beau&8221;), Montgomery, Wayne Franklin Lloyd (Sandy), Wilmington, NC, Robert Edward Lloyd, Montgomery, Harold Watt Lloyd (Sherry) Alexandra, VA; sister, Hazel Stripling, Decatur, AL; grandchildren; Adam Lloyd (Danielle), Tova Rea (Matt), Sharon Lloyd, Ricky Pounsberry (Kim), Danny Lloyd (Sara), Jason Lloyd, Jimmy Lloyd and Mary Kathryn Lloyd; great-grandchildren; Austin Lloyd, Max Lloyd, Vanessa Lloyd, Joseph Lloyd, Alex Rae, Jacquelyn Lloyd, and Vatali Lloyd.

Marjorie lived a very full life raising four children. She was very active in church work including, missions, both home and abroad, teaching and ministering. For 20 years she and Harold preached and held services at Capitol Hill Nursing Home and Woodley Manor. Together they started churches in Japan, Washington State, Ohio and New York.

Please come and celebrate her life with us, Thursday, August 4, at 11 a.m. from First Baptist Church with Reverend Jay Wolf officiating. Mrs. Lloyd will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with Leak-Memory Chapel directing.

Honorary pallbearers will be The Lloyd Lunch Bunch and Dr. Radha Krothapalla, MD.

The family wishes to thank mom’s caregivers, Pearl Meriwethor, Ophelia Earnest, Vernell Fleming, Thelma Lassic, Jean Moton, Niccki White and Renica Busby for their devotion and care of our mother.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Caring Center, 303 South Perry Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104.

Pallbearers will be Matt Bishop, Bob Duck, Jim Cooper, John Cooper, Fred Waldo and David Morris.

Doris Ruth Lewellen

Doris Ruth Lewellen, 75, died Tuesday, August 2, 2005, at a local nursing home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2005, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Wiggins officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery.

Family visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2005, from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Paul Lewellen and two sons, Randy and Gregg Lewellen. She also leaves behind a brother, Robbie Kelley and a sister, Jeanette Bodiford; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Lewellen Tyler.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Lewellen, Bobby Mosley, Gary Lewellen, Todd Cooper, Brad Kelley and Rudy Lewellen.

Betty Jean Acoff

Betty Jean Acoff, 49, of Selma, died Sunday, July 31, 2005, at a Birmingham hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 5, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Walker Mortuary directing.

Survivors include parent Willie Lee Holmes; two sons, Ronnie Jerome Stewart and Reginald D’Angolo Acoff; and one daughter, Tameka Roshelle Acoff.
