Rosa Lee Bell

Rosa Lee Bell, 76, of Selma, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Colvin officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens Cemetery with Walker Mortuary directing.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Bell Jr.; two sons, Dwight Bell and Erskine Higgins; four daughters, Valerie Hardy, Jometa Lane, Chrysanthemum Moultrie, and Eunice Bell; one brother, Joseph Hamelin Jr.; two sisters, Daisy Hamelin and Johnnie Marie Brazel; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sons-in-law; two daughters-in-law; one brother-in-law; four sisters-in-law; eight nephews; 17 nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Ryan Hall, Major Irby, Amos Lowery, Harmon Morgan and Gregory Reaser.

Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Moultrie, Henry Moultie and Bernard L. Hardy Jr.

Family visitation will be at 6 p.m. at Greater Hope M.B. Church, 537 Jeff Davis Ave., Selma.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Webster-Griffin and one sister, Arcola Reaser.

Sadie B. Smith

Sadie B. Smith, 70, of Selma, died Sunday, July 22, 2005, in Selma.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Walker Mortuary.

Montgomery W. Alison

Montgomery W. &8220;Winkie&8221; Alison, 80, passed away Monday, July 25, 2005.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 29, 2005, at Grace Episcopal Church in Mt. Meigs at 2:00pm with visitation one hour prior to service also at the church.

Graveside services will be at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Cemetery in Carlowville at 5 p.m. Southern Memorial directing

Alison was preceded in death by his wife, Elmira Alison.

Survivors include daughter, Anna Grace (Van) Smith of Prattville, AL, three sons- Wink (Carol) Alison Jr. of Winnsboro, LA, Sam (Loren) Alison of South Pasadena, CA and Clyde (Audrey) Alison of Pike Road, AL;, nine grandchildren- Evie Alison (Chad) Stubbs, Will Smith, Zac Smith, Grace Smith, Annie Alison, Mary Beth Alison, Dashiell Alison, Julia Alison and Matthew Alison; two great grandchildren- Cal and Alison Stubbs; one brother, Sam Alison; and one sister, Frances Alison.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Rebuilding Together Central Alabama at P.O. Box 4731, Montgomery, AL 36103-4731.

Charles B. Salter

Charles B. &8220;Cool Breeze&8221; Salter, age 83, of Demopolis, Alabama, passed Monday, July 23, 2005, at a Medical Birmingham hospital.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2005, at 1 p.m. at New Morning Star Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama, the Rev. Willie Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Demopolis, Alabama.

The remains will lie in state at the church on Thursday beginning at 12 noon. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with all arrangements.
