Cecil Chadwick Goddard

Cecil Chadwick Goddard, age 77, died Tuesday June 21, 2005 at a Montgomery hospital.

Graveside services will be held Friday June 24, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Pineview Memory Gardens officiated by Rev. Lee Tate and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Mr. Goddard is survived by daughters, Leisa Hunter of Selma, Karen (Ricky) Peacock of Selma, grandchildren, Kimberly Hitt of Selma, Ashley (Chris) Cochran of Valley Grande, great-grandchild, Kali Cochran, sisters, Raye Graves of Cullman, Faye (Lance) Neilson of Austin, TX, brother, Jim (June) Goddard of Selma, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Hopkins.

Mr. Goddard was employed by Liberty National Life Insurance Company for 26 years.

He was designated Honor Agent 9 times, Torch Club 19 times, President’s Club 2 times, District Leader 7 times, Leader’s Club 4 times, Health Insurance Quarterly Award 4 times. He has a time capsule buried in the main office of Liberty National in Birmingham.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Lance Neilson, Marc Graves, David Graves, David Hopkins, Chris Cochran, Mitch Russell, and Jerry Hatfield.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Wiregrass Hospice or St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday June 23, 2005

at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Faye Coley

Faye Coley, 81, of Selma, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at a local hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2005, at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing.

Family visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church prior to graveside services.

William H Lloyd, Sr.

William H Lloyd, Sr., age 87 formerly of Selma and Mobile died in Tampa, Florida.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 Friday June 24, 2005 in Valley Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery officiated by Dr. Cecil Williamson and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Mr. Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Timothy) Taylor of Sumter, SC, two sons, William (Barbara) Lloyd of Tampa, FL and Ronald Lloyd of Weston, FL, sister, Mildred Cockern of Athens, GA, brother, Charles Lloyd of Jasper, AL, eight grandchildren, Michelle Lloyd of Weston, FL, Melissa Lloyd and Brian Lloyd of Tampa, FL, Christina Lloyd of Durham, NC, Patricia Jayroe, Ashley Taylor, and William Taylor of Sumter, SC and Alan Fernandez of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Mr. Lloyd was a native of Rome, Georgia and was an U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII.

He was retired from Eastern Airlines after 35 years of service.

Mr. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ola M. Lloyd and his parents Newton Homer Lloyd and Savannah Smith Lloyd.

Willie D. Jones

Willie D. Jones, 53, of Greensboro, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at a Mobile hospital.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Rising Star Baptist Church in Greensboro, with the Rev. Freddie Robertson officiating.

Burial followed in Jones Cemetery with Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.

Eliza Johnson

Eliza Johnson, 84, formerly of Marion, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at a hospital in Canton, Ohio.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 19, at Providence Baptist Church in Marion with the Rev. Robert McCraney officiating.

Burial followed in Marion City Cemetery with Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.

Plurie Minter-Walker

Plurie Minter-Walker, 97, of Marion Jct., died Friday, June 17, 2005, at a Selma hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Central Baptist Church, Massilon, AL with Pastor David Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include three sons, Johnny (Sophie) Walker of Selma, Tommy (Louise) Walker and Ford (Olivia) Walker of Bessemer; six daughters, Johnnie Mae Turnipseed, Laura (Franklin) Person, Eula Suttles of Bessemer, Rosetta and Patricia Walker of Browns and Jeanie Ward of Selma; one sister, Lizzie Houston of Selma; 33 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; one son-in-law; and one daughter-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ford Walker and daughter, Rebecca Walker Beal.

Active pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons.

Emily Smith

Emily Smith, 62, of Marion, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at her home.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 11, at Marion Baptist Academy in Marion, with the Rev. Roger Curry officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Tabo Cemetery with Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.

Arthur Lee Billingsley

Arthur Lee Billingsley, 44, died Sunday, June 19, 2005, at his home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 25, at Marion Baptist Academy with the Rev. Eugene Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery with Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.

Sarah Harris

Sarah Harris, of Lowndesboro, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Bell Funeral Home.
