Keyshawn Arrington found his way across the dish three times to lead Ray Davis to a narrow victory over the squad from Discount Tire, 18-15 in five-and six-year old baseball action on May 27. Darrell Moorer, Tanner Anderson and Sawyer Hopkins also finished the day with a trio of runs each. Evan Glaze, Gabe Denson, Denton Burroughs, Michael Johnson, Jadarius Whitlock and Demetrius Martin finished the game with one run each. For the Discount Tire squad, Brandon Milhouse, D’Ques Myers and Frank McGill finished with three runs each. Ryan Snell, Ivan Williams and Corey Hatcher added two runs but still came up short.

5-and 6-year old

Mr. Roy’s 22, Henderson 2

Mr. Roy’s used three big innings to put the game out of reach and in the end, defeat their opponents 22-2.

Jamar Pritchett, Fredriquez Richardson, Juantavious Jones and Christopher Wilson each finished the game with three runs. William Reed, Michael Jones, Rondarous Sanders and Deondra Edwards finished the rout with two runs each.

Henderson scored both of their runs in the top half of the first frame. Joseph Jones and Benton Traylor accounted for the team’s two-run tally.

People’s 17, Smitherman 16

Smitherman took the field looking for their second win of the season, unfortunately, People’s Bank had a different plan put together as they jumped out to a 4-2 first inning lead May 27. The squad from Smitherman trailed for a majority of the game and was able to take the lead in the top half of the fourth inning. People’s Bank scored three runs in the bottom half of that inning to claim the lead and the victory. Reginald Simmons scored three runs to lead People’s Bank. Mason Kendrick, Adrevious Carter, Derion Anderson, Taylor Nix and Peyton Egbert each tacked on a pair of runs in the loss.

Cosby Ice 14, RounTree 12

After two innings the unbeaten Cosby Ice squad rallied out to an 11-1 run lead due in large part to a six-run second. Rountree battled back into the game and posted a nine-run fourth but fell short of the upset, losing 14-12 on May 27.

Cole Robertson, Ladarius Woods, Jalen Garner, Jackson Lovelace, Will Brackin, Phillip Peake, Ryan Stokes, Luke Whetstone, Sam Brackin, Jackson Pierce, Allen Todd, Sam Plummer and Tommy Flenory each recorded a hit to lead Cosby to their ninth win of the season. For their opponents RounTree. Hunter Wolfe, Christopher Wilson, Chase Dunklin, Nathan Bender, Kane Perryman, Tyler Neely, Tristan Lawrence, Lang Evans, Derrion Atcherson, Joseph Lolley, Dayton Reeves and Erroll Parker banged out hits in the loss.

Tayari

22, Taylor Sports 10

Taylor Sports jumped out to an early 7-6 lead at the end of the first inning, but watched it dwindle away through the course of the next three, falling 22-10 on May 27.

Jay Allbright, Ty Allbright, Sekobi Lee, Dexter Patterson, Deshawan Barrow, Arthur Hardy, Jemarius Brown and Ledarius Reynolds all had hits in the game.

Josh Chriswell, Caleb Lester, Paul Daniels, Clarence Lindsey, Marquevon Murray, Michael Davidson, Tyler Trammell, Matthew Wicson, Ryan Harvell, Jackson Jones and Ben McCowan each had hits for Taylor Sports in the loss.

Rehab

16, Captain D’s 3

Darian Brantley proved to have the big stick on May 27 for Rehab Associates, banging out a pair of inside the park homeruns and scoring three runs to lead his team to the 16-3 victory. Brandon Oliver also scored three runs.

Rehab got addition support from Khaneil Oliver’s three runs and Kiwansis Jones, Daniel Bailey and Byron Montgomery each finished the night with two runs.

For Captain D’s Michael Parker singled and scored a run and was followed by J.R. Ward and Luke Reynolds with a pair of runs each.

Yeargan 17, CWA 5

John Bone, Dylan Bamburg and Jakobie Lawrence all had a trio of hits and a trio of runs to lead Yeargan Construction to another victory. Wade Mahan led Yeargan at the dish with four hits. For their opponents, the CWA squad, Taylor Havgen finished the night with three hits and two runs.

Jaquez Fields added a pair of hits and an additional run, so did Devion Johnson.

May 24, 2005

Blue Ox 16, CWA 14

Blue Ox used a seven-run third and a five-run fifth to secure a narrow 16-14 victory over the CWA squad in 7- and 8-year old baseball action on May 24. Cameron Walker, Willie Moseley and Brandon Moore provided the offense with a combined five singles.

Seth Braddock, Jaquez Fields, Dalven Johnson and Justin Wade led CWA with four singles.

Selma H’ware 17, Clean Machine 7

Jalil Stallworth doubled to lead Selma Hardware to a 17-7 victory over the Clean Machine on May 24. Selma Hardware also had the help of Rayford Mitchell and Stacy Russell at the plate along with an eight-run second inning and a six-run third inning to claim the 10-run victory.

Alex Waite singled twice for Clean Machine in the loss.

May 25, 2005

Moore Stewart 14, Blue Ox 3

Marcus Thomas doubled and then touched ’em all on an inside the park home run to lead Moore-Stewart to a 14-3 victory over the Blue Ox.

Moore-Stewart pushed ahead to an early 7-0 lead at the end of the first inning and continued to tack on runs until the game was called in the fourth due to the 10-run rule. Tez Atchison, Caleb Harris, Jack Stewart and Jalen Furlow added a mixture of singles and doubles to the winning effort.

Slade Singleton finished the night with a single for the Blue Ox squad.

Clean Machine 15, CWA 5

The Clean Machine used an eight-run second to punch ahead 9-3 en route to a 15-5 victory on May 25. Davis Campbell and Michael Moore doubled, while Keon Moore, Kyson Taylor and Malik Walker singled in the victory.

Devion Johnson singled for CWA, while Jaquez Fields doubled and David Jones tripled in the loss.

May 28, 2005

9-and 10-years old baseball

Lauderback 12, Evans 2

Lauderback jumped out an early 6-0 lead on their way to a 12-2 victory on May 28. Alton Carmichael crossed home three times, followed by Ken Fails, Mark Jones and Christian Allday with two each in the victory.

Clayton Copeland and Demond Washington combined for the two Evans’ runs.

Pepsi 11, Victor 0

Pepsi used two five-run innings to push ahead of Victor Nissan 11-0 on May 28. A.J. Simmons, Wyatt Sanders, Hunter Gorenflo and Justin Chandler each scored a pair of runs in the victory.
