Gayle, Hubbard and Smith lead Gabe’s Corner to win

Gabe’s Corner earned a 16-9 victory over Selma Hardware in 5- and 6-year old softball action on May 27. Anna Gayle Hubbard and Jamya Smith tallied three runs each for the Gabe’s Corner squad. Also, Mallory Freine, Jatari Hardy and Quadasha Holmes finished the night with two runs each, propelling their squad to the win. For Selma Hardware, Kionah Page finished the night with a pair of runs in the loss. In other action from around the diamond:

Carter Drug 16, Dallas Ave 5

Tamia coleman, Jalysa Turner and Nakeda Cobb finished the night with a trio of runs each to lead the Carter Drug squad to a victory over Dallas Avenue, 16-5 on May 27. Imani Roy also tacked on a pair of runs for the Carter Drug squad en route to their victory. For Dallas Avenue, Kendra Hudson finished the night with two runs.

Southland 21, FB 5

Mary Paige Trammell crossed home four times to lead Southland Chemical on a 21-5 romp through the Flower Basket on May 27. Mary Logan Kelley, Kendall Veach and Maggie Jackson finished the night with a trio of runs each. Jordan Cruz and Hannah Testas scored two runs each. Nyonah Morrow scored two of the Flower Basket’s five runs in the loss.

9- and 10-year old softball

Steve Lane’s 7, Mayton 6

Tiffanie Lane scored a pair of runs to lead the Steve Lane’s Truck and Auto squad to a narrow, 7-6 victory on May 27. Ayana Moore and Nakeya Pope scored a combined four of their team’s six runs in the loss.

Hagood 16, Shear Talent 10

A host of players from the Hagood Photography squad found their way around the base paths and to home, leading their team to a 16-10 victory over the squad from Shear Talent. Jessica Fuller, Caroline Sherrer, Megan Leigh Siddens, Katherine Fondren and NeNe Gunn scored two runs each to lead the Hagood squad. Sarah Reeves and Celeigh Denny scored two runs each for the Shear Talent squad.
