Elizabeth Rhiannon Chewning

Elizabeth Rhiannon Chewning, 37, of Verbena, AL died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at her residence.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 22, at Bethsaida Baptist Church in Furman, with the Rev. W. Crawford officiating and Martin Funeral Home directing.

She was born Oct. 26, 1967 in Great Britain, the daughter of Lloyd W. Chewning and Valerie J. Smith Chewning.

Survivors include her daughter, Virginia McTigue of Verbena; son, Chris McTique of Verbena; father, Lloyd Chewning of Snow Hill; mother Valerie Chewning of Snow Hill; half-sister, Lori Lee of Centreville, Md., and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

No flowers. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Joe Lee Griffin House, 1104 Ireland Way, Birmingham, AL 35205.

Darrel Ford Tubbs

Darrel Ford Tubbs, 82, of Uniontown, died Monday, May 16, 2005.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Uniontown Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Tate and the Rev. Pete Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing.

Survivors include his wife, Nelda Rhodes Tubbs of Uniontown; son, Nelson Tubbs of Birmingham; two grandchildren, Darrell G. Tubbs and Maggie Tubbs Sertler both of Birmingham; one great-grandchild, John Ford Sertler of Birmingham.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2005.

The body will lie in state.

Mr. Tubbs was a World War II veteran.

Margaret H. Burnside

Margaret H. Burnside, 76, died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May18, 2005, at New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Chandler and the Rev. Jonathan Lambert officiating and Lawrence Brown- Service Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be from 6 -8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at Lawrence Funeral Hone.

Survivors include son, Jack (Debra) Burnside; and a daughter, Kay Burnside; granddaughters, Rachel (Keith) Colley, April (Chris) Norton and Dawn Burnside; great-grandchildren, Bethany Brooks McClendon, Grace Ann Colley, Margaret Claire Colley, William Grant Norton; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of long time friends.

Mrs. Burnside was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Burnside Sr.

Active pallbearers will be Keith Colley, Chris Norton, Hugh Brothers, Bryan Johnson, and Scott Hadaway.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Powers, Tony and Jim Hadaway.

She was a member of Westwood Church of God.
