Janet Okoye

Memorial Services for Mrs. Janet U. Okoye, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2005, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 309 Washington Street.

Mrs. Janet Okoye is the mother of Dr. C. N. Okoye. She died December 14, 2004, in Nigeria.

Alphonso Hall, Jr.

Alphonso Hall, Jr., 54, of Plantersville, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at his home.

He was born March 27, 1951 in Green County, Alabama, to the late Bessie Smith Hall and Dencer Hall.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Goodwin Hall; two children, Deundra A. (Jereme) Hunter and Adrian D. Hall; three brothers, George (Janettta) Hall, Dencer (Shelia) Hall, and Jimmy Lee Hall; two sisters, Elizabeth Byrd and Carrie Gandy; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Plantersville, with Pastor Billy Cabbil officiating. Friends may visit at the Agee Brothers Funeral Home in Clanton on Sunday afternoon.

Lucinda Moss

Lucinda Moss, 73, of Sardis, Alabama passed Saturday, April, 30, 2005, at a nursing home in Atlanta, GA. Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church with the Rev. AL. Brown officiating. Internment followed in the church cemetery. Professional Services Entrusted to Alvin Lofton Mortuary, Inc., 385 Scenic Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA, 678-407-3888, and local arrangements by Miller Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Jessie Dillard, Lorine (James) Montgomery and Olivia Moss; five sons, Jimmy (Rebecca) Mixson, Lee (Lucille) Mixson, Chester (Shelia) Mixson, Leslie (Rhonda) Moss, Michael (Aurelia) Moss; 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, seven sisters; five brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

Edna Lucille Adams

Edna Lucille Adams, age 82, of Selma died Friday May 6, 2005 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday May 9, 2005 in the Chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Wayne Craft. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery. Mrs. Adams is survived by her brother, Ernest Tillery and his wife, Dorothy, of Montgomery, niece, Bobbie Jo McCullough and her husband, Terry, of Hope Hull, AL, nephews, Buddy Tillery and his wife, Jackie, of Montgomery, AL, Larry Tillery and his wife, Judy, of Beaumont, TX, great nieces, Courtney and Brittney Tillery of Montgomery, AL, and special friends, Aubrey and Jean Posey of Selma. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.

Jewel Evelyn Middlebrooks

Jewel Evelyn Middlebrooks, age 87, of Montevallo died Friday May 6, 2005 at home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday May 9, 2005 in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Winston Brooks. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery. Mrs. Middlebrooks is survived by her son, Charles R. Middlebrooks of Eclectic, AL, daughters, Doris N. Middlebrooks of Eclectic, AL, Mildred (Johnny Green) Of Montevallo, Margaret (Billy) Mitchell of Lowndesboro, AL, Ruth (Thomas) Haney of Lowndesboro, AL, Judy Connell of Montgomery, 17 Grandchildren, 38 Great-Grandchildren. Serving as active pallbearers will be Bo Wheeler, Cody Leonard, Sky Stambaugh, Nathan Sparks, Adam Pilgreen, and Micah Dettmar. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Green, Jason Greene, Tray Mims, Tate Leonard, Josh Leonard, James Thomas Epperson, Logan Middlebrooks, Nicholas Friday, Alex Dettmar, Christian Friday, Maverick Friday, and Shawn Singleton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday May 8, 2005 at the funeral home.

Carolyn Harper Wilson

Carolyn Harper Wilson, age 73, of Selma passed away Saturday May 7, 2005 at her home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday May 10, 2005 at Cooper Christian Church with

Pastor Allen Yarbrough and Pastor Daniel Martin officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery. Family visitation will be prior to the funeral service from 10 to 11 a.m. at Cooper Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Dean S. Wilson of Selma, children, Butch (Ginger) Wilson of Browns, Larry (Elaina) Wilson of Orlando, FL, Gordon (Misty) Wilson of Selma, Linda (Jesse) Hendricks of Daphne, AL, Jenny (Brad) Banks of Fairhope, AL, and Matt (Shelly) Wilson of Charlotte, NC, 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sisters, Thelma Pitts of Dadeville, AL, Jean (Melvin) Gilley of Selma, Peggy (Jack) Ferris of Livingston, TX, and Judy (Richard) Bell of Jacksonville, AL, brothers, Raymond West of Eclectic, Roy West of Austin, TX, Bobby (Marie) West of Meridian, MS, and Richard (Janice) West of Atlanta, GA. Pallbearers will be extended family.
