Dallas and Lowndes County will be well represented in this weekend’s AISA State championships to be held at Montgomery’s Lagoon Park.

In the Class A bracket, the Lowndes Academy Lady Rebels have earned the top seed and will play the first game of that bracket against Sumter Academy.

That game is slated to start at 10 a.m., and will be played on May 6.

The winner of that game will face the winner of Southern Academy and Shelby Academy. Both teams have faced and been beaten by the Lady Rebs.

In the Class AA bracket, the 23-2 Meadowview Lady Trojans will take on Jefferson Christian Academy.

The Lady Trojans polished off their regular season schedule earlier in the week with a shutout win. Micah Lolley and Elyse McIntyre combined to notch the win. Meadowview is seeded as a No. 2, with Tuscaloosa Academy earning the top seed in the bracket. MCS has a pair of losses going into the tournament, which are to Tuscaloosa Academy and Lee-Scott Academy, but finished their regional play undefeated.

The Lady Trojans will take the field on May 6 at 11:30 a.m.

In the Class AAA bracket, the Lady Senators of Morgan Academy earned a No. 7 seed and will take on Bessemer Academy in the first round of the tournament. The Lady Sens season came down to one doubleheader with the Lady Colts of Hooper Christian Academy. If the Lady Sens could have swept the horseshoes, then they would have a higher seed, but the split gave the area championship to the Lady Colts.

The Lady Sens will play Bessemer’s Lady Rebs in the first round. That game is slated to start at 11:30 on May 6.

According to the Alabama Independent School Association, teams competing will play at least two games on the first day of the tournament.

The AISA state championship is set for May 6 and 7 and will be played at Montgomery’s Lagoon Park.

While the softball teams have yet to play for a title, local baseball teams have already begun their quest. Morgan played Mobile Christian on Tuesday afternoon in a doubleheader and

Meadowview will host Escambian in a twinbill this afternoon beginning at 1 p.m.
