Amsouth’s Dixie Boys team foreclosed on their opponents from Pepsi in Tuesday night’s action. Amsouth posted a two-run first inning and didn’t stop from there. They tacked on three runs in the bottom of the second and then blew the cover off the game with a five-run third and a six-run fifth. Amsouth recorded the 17-3 victory.

Justin Freine notched the win with four strikeouts over five innings pitched.

Offensively for the bank’s winning squad Mario Ross notched a homer and a pair of singles while recording 5 RBI. Mark Englett also posted three RBI coming from three singles.

For the Pepsi squad, Forrest Hughes notched the loss giving up five runs over two innings of work. Josh Wyatt, Forrest Hughes and Darrius Wyatt posted singles in the loss.

George’s Paint and Body 10, Region’s Bank 0

Monday was not a good day to be in the banking business. Just ask the squad from Region’s Bank, as they were blanked by their opponents from George’s Paint and Body.

George’s squad jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Joel Yarbrough reached on a fielder’s choice play and then made his way around the basepaths to score. The offensive onslaught continued in the second inning when George’s Paint and Body notched four runs to jump out to a 5-0 lead. Nathan Irwin doubled and then scored. Jeffrey Allday walked and scored on a single by Darrien Page. Page then scored himself thanks to a single from Javiors Brown. Brown was knocked in courtesy of a single from Kevin Simmons. The offensive machine from George’s Paint and Body continued their scoring drive into the bottom of the third inning by posting five runs.

Yarbrough recorded his second score of the day. Cobb Bostick reached on an error and scored on a single by Jabaris Hardy. Hardy crossed the dish during the at-bat of Judy Glover. Glover reached base courtesy of a walk and then scored. Nathan Irwin reached on an error and eventually crossed the plate.

The game was called in the bottom of the fourth inning when Region’s Bank was unable to push a run across the plate.

Carter Drugs 7, Johnson Paint and Body 5

The squad from Carter Drugs used a three-run fourth to tie the game and then posted a single run in the bottom of the fifth to win it. Zack Gandy pitched three innings of scoreless baseball to seal the deal. He also had a pair of hits to carry the drugstore’s offense.

For Johnson Paint and Body Greg Page recorded three hits and Greg Lewis added on one hit in the loss.

Regions Bank 13, Selma Times-Journal 8

At the end of the first inning, both squads were tied at 6-6, but the squad from Regions Bank experienced inflation and produced five runs in the top half of the third inning to put the game out of reach. Tyler Smith led the Bankers wih a double and then scored on a triple by Jeffrey Mack. Mack scored on a wild pitch. Rodney Ellis walked and Roderick Bean singled, both scoring runs. Russel Conaway reached on an error and scored on a triple by Tavarious Murry. Murry was scored on a double by Terrence Flennory.

Roderick Boon singled and Conaway reached on an error, both scoring on a single from Flennory. Murry singled and Deskendray Blake singled and later scored.

Boon singled in the top of the fifth and worked his way around the base paths and across home plate. Erik Blevins was hit by a pitch in the top of the sixth frame. Bremond Scay singled, scoring Blevins.

For the STJ team, Sherrone Lindsay and Rashad Ellis reached base and scored on a single by Shavarious Holeman. Holeman worked his way around the bases leading to a score for the newspaper-makers. Terrance Brown and Austin Jordan were both scored in the first. Howard Pritchett reached base courtesy of an error and worked his way around and scored. The STJ squad didn’t score again until the bottom of the fifth inning when they tacked on a pair of runs thanks to the efforts of Holeman and Brown.

WHBB 10, Mr. Roy’s 3

WHBB used nine hits to beat Mr. Roy’s 10-3. Jonathan Williams was the big bat for the squad with three hits and five RBI. Jarious Moore, George Michael Rowe, Devonta Cleveland, Eddie Johnson, Dexterio Norris and Landen Denny also had hits. Denny’s hit came with two RBI.

For Mr. Roy’s, Thomas Curtis had two hits and was followed by Cody Griffin with one hit and one RBI.

9-10 Boys

Victor Nissan 13, Southtrust 2

Things didn’t get any better for the teams sponsored by financial institutions on Monday. Victor Nissan jumped ahead due to a huge first and second inning where the Nissans posted an 11-0 lead. Christopher Richardson, Preston Pritchett, Leon Sanders, Michael Peterson and Aaron Duke each scored a pair of runs. For Southtrust, Rashad Pressley scored a run and Justin Smith did as well.

Car Quest 12, ELKS Lodge 1

Michael Ward put on a batting clinic to lead the CarQuest Auto squad to the commanding 12-1 victory. Ward notched three hits and four RBI’s in Monday’s victory. Sidney Riley, Shazad Ali and Casey Pullom had two hits each in the win. Emmett Lyles, Kendal Smith, Brandon Braughn, Ashley Massey and Brumley Oglesby had one hit each.

For the squad from the ELKS Lodge, Jabari Moore was the leading hitter with a pair of hits. Darrius Hawkins, Kotaris James, Jabarrian Minnifield and Isiah Perry each recorded on hit.

Dallas Avenue Pharmacy 15, Victor Nissan 5

Dallas Avenue took the field and put the game away early. The squad jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and then pushed it to 6-0 at the end of the second inning. They really secured the win when they doubled their prior offensive tallies in the bottom of the third inning by posting six runs to push out to a 12-2 lead. The momentum stopped in bottom half of the fourth inning but business picked back up in the home half of the fifth with three runs.

Dalton Lee, Wes Tipton, Riley Hopkins, Wyatt Sims and Trey Powe each recorded three runs.

For their opponents from Victor Nissan, Michael Peterson posted a pair of runs in the losing effort.

Family Medicine 4, Amsouth 3

Family Medicine posted a lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning and held their opponents scoreless in the top of the seventh to notch the narrow victory. Daniel Lee recorded a single and a double and was followed by Jonathan Hurt with a pair of singles, Justin Ravizee with a pair of singles and a double, Torrance Wright with a single and Thomas Austin with a single. Austin pitched for the winning Family Medicine squad going seven innings and notching 13 strikeouts despite giving up three runs on four hits. For Amsouth, Mark Englett, Keith Jones and Justin Freine all singled. Daniel Blackmon took the loss for the Bankers going six innings on the mound and giving up four runs.

9-10 Boys

King Building 14, PACE 1441 2

The squad from King Building banged out 10 hits to beat PACE 1441. Austin Anderson rallied for three hits and five RBI to lead the squad from King Building. Kyle Stewart had two hits and was followed offensively by Connor Henderson, Joey Raybon, Carmain Hudson, Jerome Mance and Javoris Posey with one hit each.

For PACE 1441, Mark Black, Timothy Moore, Devonte Moorer, Jerry Brown, DeMaseyo Johnson and Jalen Raby had one hit each.

Taylor Medicine 17, Evan Chiropractic 11

Despite giving up a six-run third, the squad from Taylor Medicine rallied with a five-run inning and a four-run inning to propel them to the victory.

For Taylor Med, Jamarios Shanks, Keyonta Page, Tikeem Cooper, DeMarrius Smith and Justin Murray all touched home plate two times apiece for the win.

For Evans Chiropractic Clayton Copeland, Desmond Washington and Cody Edwards each scored two runs.

Dallas Avenue Pharmacy 11, Taylor Internal Medicine 4

After trailing 3-2 at the end of the first inning, the group from Dallas Avenue turned the momentum in their favor and posted six unanswered runs over three innings en route to the 11-4 victory.

Dalton Lee and Wes Tipton were the leading hitters for Dallas Avenue recording a combined five hits and four runs in the winning effort. Trey Powe, Riley Hopkins, Sculty Marges, Fairland Oliver, Martezz Simpsons and Chase Cammack each added a hit in the victory.

For the Internists from Taylor Med, Timothy Fields tacked on two hits and two runs and was joined by Jumand Martin and Keyonta Page who added a run each.

Ross Plumbing 11, King Building 9

Carstella Hayes and Quintarious Fails combined for four hits and four runs in the Plumber’s 11-9 victory. Woodrow waits, Rickey Simpson, Labarion Eaton, Antonio Sanders, Adam Bruno, Vincent Ellis and Terrance Johonson each tacked on a run in the victory. For the squad from King Builder’s, Austin Anderson and Kyle Stewart combined for three hits and two runs. Joey Raybun, Carmaine Hudson and Hunter Desch each had two hits and a run.

Lauderback 7, Pepsi 4

Alton Carmichael and Mark Jones led the squad from Lauderback with three hits and two runs. Ken Fails tacked on a pair of hits and a run. Joe Gibson, Jay Fletcher and Aaron Lawrence combined for five hits and three runs in the victory.

For Pepsi, Jamerius Barnett posted three hits and three runs in the loss. Anfernee Simpson, Phillip Brock and Bubba Hayes each added multiple hits in the game.

Evan Chiropractic 8, SouthTrust 7

The squad from Evan Chiropractic posted five runs in the first inning and with stood an inflation of scoring by SouthTrust to notch the one-run victory.

Vontarius Melton posted a pair of hits and two runs to lead the Evans’ squad. Alan Gaylor tacked on a hit and a run and was joined offensively by Brandon Williams with a pair of hits and Dustin Horton with two hits. Desmond Washington, Larry Puckett and JaMarcus Bush

each added hits in the winning effort.

For their opponents from SouthTrust, Rashad Pasley posted three hits and two runs in the loss. Joelton Smith tacked on a pair of hits and a pair of runs in the los. Dyst Burge, Mary Bynogg and Chase Girlic tacked on a run each.

Cody Sloan, Jesse Harris, Prince James, Ry’Darius Hardy, Javarin Brooks, Anthony Dailey, Demarquis Lumpkin and Quintravis Johnson all tacked on two runs each in the victory.

Cahaba Furniture 18, PACE 1441 11

Cahaba posted a seven-run sixth to ice the game. Martarius Sanders, Kutler Davis, DeVontae Rembert, Lane Warren and Steel Jackson each tacked on multiple runs in the victory.

For the PACE squad, Artquis Smith, Mark Black and Daryl Cosby each tacked on two runs.

Civitan Club 11, Elks Lodge 0

The group from Civitan posted nine runs over the final two frames of action to claim the 11-0 victory.

Taylor Powell, David Williams and Javantae Gibson each scored two runs in the win.

Victor Nissan 5, Fancher Fabrication 2

Victor used a four-run second to put the game out of the reach of the fabricators.

Leon Sanders, Tiomthy Coleman, Dondald Davis, Quinn Harrison and Jamone Newberry each tacked on a run in the victory.
