“We’re going to miss him next year,” Dallas County coach Billy Jackson said of his senior spark-plug.

Shane Moreland followed with a single as did James Bennett to load the bases.

Tyler Hollis brought a run home with a sacrifice fly before Jacob Paxton singled a run home.

Cody Massey followed with a sacrifice as well and Dallas County held a 3-0 lead.

Anthony with some outstanding play from his defense made it stick until the top of the seventh.

After Anthony allowed the tying run to third with one out,

Matt Ross came in and got the save.

“Being a young team like we are anytime we can get out and score first and get the lead it gives the kids a chance to get a deep breath and relax,” Jackson said. “The defense came through today, we had one error. We’ve been kicking it around lately but we did a real good job of not doing that.”

The Hornets play at Maplesville at 3:30 p.m. today.

“We’re 5-6-1 hopefully tomorrow we’ll get back to .500,” Jackson said. “It’s a big rivalry tomorrow.”
