To the editor:
Here cometh again, Springtime around,
With hopes and dreams of bloom. Touching
soil in Selma and I would like to share,
This tribute poem of spring coming soon.
The Gleam of Spring
Awaken earth from gentle sleep,
Creeping evergreen upon the fields.
Gleaming softly, spring light aglows,
Beautiful butterflies, through air and yield.
Sweet smelling fragrances overspreads,
Beauty of nature, a pleasant thrill.
Warm heart soars, misty spring showers,
As the sun rises over hill.
Oversighting shallow water, near coast,
Sending soft rays of light.
Gently, alighting cracks,
Along walls and shining bright.
Small leaf at base of flowers,
Amasking thorny stems, deep-rooted seeds.
Oozing from leaves and stem, honeydew,
And nectar of plants, alluring honeybees.
Fruits depriving, from deep growing soil,
Vines fast upon the walls,
Faintly gleams, a garden in moonlight,
As twilight merges in darkness fall.

To the editor:
I had a car accident on Broad St. on March 1st. I would like to tell the men that helped me thank you. I do not know their names, but when my car had came to a stop and I composed myself, I looked up and there were a couple of men that were concerned about me and my daughter.
I would just like to thank them. There are hardly ever times where people are concerned enough to stop to see about someone else’s safety, and they are much appreciated.
To those men, you are truly appreciated. Thank you!
