Rosemary D. Wilson, 79, of Selma, Al. died at home Monday, March 7, 2005 after a brief illness.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Friday March 11, at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, with the Rev. Polk VanZandt officiating and Lawrence-Brown Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include her two sons, Dennis “Mike” Wilson, and Don Wilson, both of Selma.: Two brothers, Dennis S. Dolney of Stow, Ohio: and Joseph Eugene “Perk” Dolney of Riverside,Ca.; a daughter-in-law, MaryAnn Campbell, of Pace, Fla.; a granddaughter, Diana Leigh Holm of Stillwater, Ok:; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert C. and Doris Wilson of Birmingham. Al; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John. D. Wilson Jr., and her son John D. “Jack” Wilson III.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Cleveland Ohio, where she met and married her husband. They soon settled in Selma, which remained their lifelong home. She has been a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Selma, for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Wilson was also a lifelong member and contributor to the Selma Charity League.
She tirelessly helped her husband with his insurance claims adjusting business, and assisted with the “family-owned- business”, Perrin’ s Cafeteria, which was co-owned by her husband John D. Wilson Jr., his brother Robert C. Wilson, and their Mother, Allene C. Wilson from 1948 until 1972.
She also had a fulfilling career, enjoying her employment by such firms as Ford Construction Co., Stearn, Agee and Leach Investment Group, and most recently Bedgood and Huff CPA,(formerly Stack, Breeding and Calame, CPA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to do so make memorial contributions to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Selma, The American Cancer Society, or a favorite charity or organization.
The family will be receiving family and friends from 2pm-4pm Thursday, March 10, at Mrs. Wilson’s home located at 142 Russell Drive, Selma.
Active pallbearers will be Glenn Allen, Jimmy Bedgood, Bob Kelley, Daryl Morris, Bruce Peak and Herb Story.
