Aaron Raines’s technical in the first three minutes of Meadowview Christian’s 54-46 loss to Autauga Academy Friday night was an omen.

Missed shots and turnovers kept the game scoreless for a full two minutes until Autauga’s Jonathan Boysen dropped a three-pointer.

The Trojans first points came on two penalty shots two minutes later making the score 2-6.

Long shots kept the Generals ahead throughout the first half and they went to the locker room with 27 points to the Trojans 23.

Aaron Raines’ jumper gave Meadowview their first lead of the night in the third quarter at 28-27 but the Generals answered with two of their own. Two free throws by Derek Lassiter put the Trojans regained the lead.

The ball still refused to drop into the net until Chris Sewell, Meadowview’s high scorer with 16 points, hit a three-pointer from the corner.

Meadowview’s Dustin Lee garnered the Trojan’s second and third technical of the night. The General’s hit three of the four shots making the score 41-40

You win some, you lose some.”

Instead of dwelling on the loss, Coach Rick Raines and his Trojans are already looking ahead to Tuesday night’s game at Morgan Academy. The Junior varsity added to the heartbreak for the Trojans losing their game 16-31.

Ross Johnson scored 10 points for the Trojans with Ryan Aultman at four and Davis Jones with 2.
