Simple plan leads Trojans

The game plan prepared by Meadowview Christian School coach Rick Raines was simple – grab the rebound, get the ball down court and get it in the basket.
The simple yet effective plan was executed to order by the Trojans in their 54-41 win over Evangel Christian on Tuesday night.
The Trojans improved to 9-8 with the victory.
Flashy ball handling and 3-point attempts by the Evangel Christian Lions were not enough to counter Meadowview’s quick, accurate passes.
The Lions also had trouble finding the basket
for most of the game.
By the second half, the Trojans altered their game. Their accurate passes overloaded one side of the key, leaving an open man on the far side. It usually took one quick pass before Meadowview scored.
Aided by a full court press in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter, the Lions drew as close to the Trojans as they had all night. But the Lions’ inability to make their shots on offense made the press ineffective.
Derek Lassitter led the Trojans with 27 points and 15 rebounds while Chris Sewell put up 15 points and gathered two rebounds.
Aaron Raines claimed eight rebounds, followed by Dustin Lee with seven rebounds.
