Charles E. Phillips Sr.
Charles E. Phillips Sr., 55, of Selma, died Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at a local hospital.
Services will be held at noon on Wednesday, January 12, at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Summer Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Phillips; six sons, Charles (Suzanana) Phillips Jr., Nevell Phillips, Tony Phillips, Arthur (Lenore) Hunter, Jermoria Ward and Don (Katrena) Ward; four daughters, Gail (John) Jones, Shuvone Nash, Barbara Jane (Eddie)
Starling and Rochelle (Anthony) Murray; one brother, Larry (Diane) Phillips; two sisters, Evelyn (Leroy) Jones and Betty Jean (Joe) Hall; 30 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sons-in-law; three daughters-in-law; eight brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillie Mae Phillips, and two brothers, John Phillips Jr. and Kenneth Phillips.

Deason, 65, of Centreville, died Sunday, January 9, 2005, at a Tuscaloosa hospital.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, at Centreville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Allen Foster and the Rev. Glenn Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Plantersville Christian Cemetery in Plantersville with Rockco Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include her husband, Benny J. Deason of Centreville; one son, Jody Deason of Centreville; one daughter, Connie (Gino) Gasali of Centreville; mother, Annie P. Johnson of Plantersville; one brother, Dr. John M. Pickering of Montgomery; four sisters, Dickie (David) Atchison of Plantersville, Laura (Billy) Wheatley of Prattville, Catherine (Bill) Fulford of Centreville and Fay (Bobby) Deason of Centreville. Special buddy, Chip Deason, nephew and a host of nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, A.M. “Dick” Pickering.
Active pallbearers are Ray Burt, Kenny Burt, Jim Burt, Darren Atchison, Dale Fulford, Chip Deason, Jason Stewart and James Collins.
Family visitation will be at the church from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
Donations may be made to Cahawba Christian Academy.
