MCS Ladies win, and other high school scores

Haley McIntyre’s senior season continued in solid fashion Saturday night as the Meadowview Christian Lady Trojans pounded Abbeville Christian, 73-40.
McIntyre scored 28 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as the Lady Trojans improved to 11-5 overall and 2-0 in the area.
McIntyre also had five assists, five steals and three blocks in the victory. She was followed by Elyse McIntyre with 17 points, including five 3-pointers. Joni Lawrence dropped in 13 points and five rebounds. Carol Ann McIntyre and Deavan Altman contributed seven and six points, respectively.
“This was probably our best game of the year,” MCS coach Mike Cassebaum said. “We’ve started clicking since the Christmas holiday break. The tough games we had before Christmas are starting to pay off for us now.”
On Friday night, Haley McIntyre poured in 29 points as the Lady Trojans pounded Taylor Road Academy, 68-29. Joni Lawrence chipped in 12 points as well.
Southside wins
The Southside High School Panthers improved to 16-0 and remained the top team in the state Class 4A polls Friday night with a resounding 78-46 beating of Brewbaker Tech.
The Panthers had four players score in double figures, led by Deonta Williams with 18 points. Jermarcus Hardy and Fontano Watters followed with 15 points apiece and Jeffery Anderson had 11 points. Brandon Fuller dropped in six points for the Panthers.
CCA beats Open Door
TUSCALOOSA – Bud Smith scored 22 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and collected six steals as Central Christian Academy beat Open Door Academy, 75-54, on Saturday night.
Tee Woods added 20 points, 15 rebounds and six assists for the Warriors. Bradley Savage tossed in 11 points and 11 rebounds. Andre Pearson contributed 10 points and 12 rebounds. Jerome Deese and Felix Baker each collected seven rebounds in the victory.
In action from Friday night, Woods scored a game-high 30 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and added eight steals as the Warriors routed marion Academy, 65-10.
Smith finished with 13 points, six rebounds and six steals, and Simuel Walker tossed in seven points while collecting 13 rebounds and six steals.
In junior varsity action, Central Christian Academy did not allow a field goal the entire game and went on to beat Marion Academy, 45-1.
Felix Baker and Bradley Savage led the Warriors with 17 and 16 points, respectively.
Maplesville wins
MAPLESVILLE – Daphne Green paced Maplesville High School with 14 points as the Lady Red Devils bested Thorsby, 55-27, Friday night.
Melissa Pryor followed with 10 points for the Lady Red Devils. Anna Atchison and Brittany Seales tossed in eight points apiece and Kassandra Bell finished with seven points.
In boys’ action, John Andrews led all scorers with 21 points as Maplesville slipped past Isabella, 61-47.
Andrews also gathered eight rebounds in the victory. He was followed by Marcus Wilson with 15 points and Nick Andrews with seven points.
RC streak continues
UNIONTOWN – The R.C. Hatch Lady Bobcats kept their unbeaten season alive Friday night by thrashing Billingsley, 81-10.
Vanecia Dudley and Audrey Mitchum led the Lady Bobcats (15-0, No. 1 in the girls’ Class 2A state poll) with 16 points each. Mitchum also had 10 rebounds, four steals and three assists. Sierra Miller contributed 13 points in the victory.
