Comedy show set to hit Wallace

Dr. Bruce Taylor is more than happy to treat Selma’s funny bone.
“We do know laughter is the best form of medicine,” he said.
This philosophy is leading him to promote an upcoming comedy show, featuring comedian Rickey Smiley of BET’s “ComicView,” at Wallace Community College Selma.
In January, Smiley will be joined by fellow comedian Ced Delaney, Selma Youth Development Center Dance troupe, a local band, and poetry “slammer” John Paul Taylor, Dr. Taylor’s brother.
Dr. Taylor said it was all part of giving back to the community, one of the many ways he knows how.
“The main thing is really to provide some more entertainment for the area,” he said.
Dr. Taylor has enlisted the help of an old college fraternity brother, who owns Paradise Entertainment, to bring the show to the area. While working on his undergraduate work at UAB,
Taylor and his frat brother promoted many similar shows.
Taylor said he also wants to bring other agencies and organizations into the show, in order to spread the joy.
Last year, Taylor said he promoted another comedy show involving the Selma Area Food Bank.
The comedy show will be held at Wallace Community College on January 6. Gates open at 6 p.m. For tickets or more information, call 334-874-8800.
