Elnora Edwards

Elnora Edwards, 83, of Selma, died Friday, December 3, 2004.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 12, at Marietta AME Zion Church in Selma, with the Rev. Isaiah Ferguson and the Rev. Lorenzo Edwards of Detroit, Mich., officiating and Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.

Willie Rogers

Willie “Bill” Rogers, of Selma, died Monday, December 6, 2004.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 11, at Elbethel Baptist Church in Selma, with the Rev. Joe J. Peterson officiating and Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Ronald James Strong

Ronald James Strong, 43, of Selma, died Monday, December 6, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 11, at Sandridge Baptist Church with the Rev. E.M. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Johnita Lynne Strong; three sons, Ronald, Jamarius and Wendell; one daughter, Tommisene; one grandchild; one brother-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.

Active pallbearers are family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parent, David Woods and Linda Strong.

Evelyn Steele Tarver

Evelyn Steele Tarver, 71, of Selma, died Monday, December 6, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, at Camp Creek Baptist Church with Bishop C.J. Nicholson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include four sons, Willie Tarver, Robert Tarver Jr., Bert Tarver, and Ralph Tarver; one daughter, Charlene Tarver; five sisters, Ida Miller, Lenora Steele, Edna Coleman, Annie Coleman and Carrie Graham; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three daughters-in-law; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Tarver Sr., her parents, Alice and Matthew Steele Sr. and one daughter, Beverly Tarver; six brothers and two sisters.

Active pallbearers are Michael Tarver, Latrell Harris, Israel Tarver, Demond Coleman, Orlando Dugars and Sonnie Henderson.

Mitchell Nevels

Mitchell Nevels, 56, of Selma, died Friday, December 3, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 11, at Holy Ghost House of God with the Rev. Bert Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Norfleet Cemetery in Newbern with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife Charlie Dowdell-Nevels; one son, Michael A. Johnson; five daughters, SFC Katrina D. Dowdell-Boyd, SSG Cami M. Harris, Yolanda Flowers, Jennifer R. Dowdell and Latorsha Johnson; one brother, Reginald Sykes of Oakland, Calif.; one sister, Nancy Farr, of Oakland, Calif.; nine grandchildren; three sons-in-law; three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews; other relatives, very, very special cousin, Mamie Nevels-Deyampert.

Active pallbearers are co-workers of Bush Hog and friends.

Earnest Sheppard

Earnest Sheppard, 88, of Selma, died Monday, December 6, 2004, at a

local hospital.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 12, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Bert Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Bessie R. Pearson

Bessie R. Pearson, 78, of Selma, died Monday, December 6, 2004, at her home.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 11, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn King officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Creek Baptist Church

Survivors include two sons, Samuel Brown and Tarrell Pearson; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Patricia Pearson and Marvine Brown; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Active pallbearers are friends of the family.

Adelaide Parker Morrow

Adelaide Parker Morrow, 92, of Maplesville, died Sunday, December 5, 2004, at her daughter home in Selma.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, at Plantersville Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Rodney Todd Morton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include four sons, Roosevelt (Annie Bell) Morrow, Rev. Lee Morrow, John Morrow and David Morrow; five daughters, Addie (Willie) Crum, Mary (Milford) Latham, Lorene McKenzie, Alma Shields and Barbara (Richard) Roberts; one sister, Lillian Shelton of Talladega; 39 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; three sons-in-law; four daughters-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.

Active pallbearers are grandsons.

Family visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home.

Elsie Louise Faircloth Randall

Elsie Louise Faircloth Randall, 93, a longtime resident of Marion Junction, died Thursday, December 9, 2004, in Selma.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at the Marion Junction United Methodist Church, Rev. Charles R. Walker, Rev. Tom Rimmer, Rev. Sandy Simmons, and Rev. James Farrow officiating. Burial will follow in the Marion Junction Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Randall was born in Birmingham, July 7, 1911, the daughter of Daniel Franklin Faircloth and Veda Parker Faircloth. She attended Alabama College (University of Montevallo). She was a faithful member of Marion Junction United Methodist Church for 60 years. Mrs. Randall was a beloved wife and mother.

Survivors include her four daughters and their families: Sherie Randall Sherrer (John), Selma; Kay Randall Eddins (Timothy),

Birmingham; Diane Randall Chappell (Henry), Montgomery; Joy Randall Beers (Robert),

Tyler; 10 grandchildren: John F. Sherrer, Jr., Spanish Fort, AL; Scott R. Sherrer, Lancaster, S.C.; Dr. W. Todd Sherrer, Selma; Sherie Leigh Sherrer Ousley, Selma; T. Owen Eddins, Jr., Birmingham; David R. Eddins,

Rome, Ga.; Jennifer R. Chappell, Birmingham; G. Robert “Bert” Beers, IV,

Columbia, SC; Randall C. Beers, Tyler; and Rebecca A. Beers, Lexington, Va.; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ernest Franklin Randall; a brother, Dr. William Bryan Faircloth, Zanesville, Ohio; and a granddaughter, Virginia Allison Chappell.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 10, 2004, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home, 2900 Citizens Parkway, Selma, AL.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, John F. Sherrer, Jr., Scott R. Sherrer, Dr. W. Todd Sherrer, T. Owen Eddins, Jr., David R. Eddins, G. Robert “Bert” Beers, IV, Randall C. Beers; and A. David Ousley. Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews, David Faircloth, William “Bill” Faircloth, Frank Randall, and Jim Allen Randall.
