Bears cream Linden

Junior center Lewis Lee soared through the air towards the goal on a fast break.

With his Keith Bears holding onto a comfortable lead, Lee could afford a little showtime Tuesday night at home against Linden.

Lee rose to the rim and slammed the ball down, only to watch it rattle in and out.

As he jogged up court, he heard a few good natured groans from the crowd. But he could afford to laugh it off.

The Bears center had already registered one of the better games of his young career and jammed home a trio of two-fisted slams that brought the home crowd to their feet each time.

For emphasis, Lee later added one more slam as Keith took the easy 82- 60 home victory to end a two-game losing skid.

“It may be a career high,” Keith coach Joseph Pettway said of Lee’s 26-point effort. “The sky’s the limit for Lewis, he’s been working hard.

He’s really come on.”

Lee added 6 rebounds and 3 steals.

Though he was the only Bear who dunked one home last night, he wasn’t the only Bear hustling up and down the court.

Linden had little answer for the Bears constant pressure.

“The guards played better tonight,” Pettway said. “They really stepped up and played like senior guards tonight.

With our size, with our ability and no more talent then we have, we have to pressure the ball.”

Guard/forward C.J. Jones added 13 points, 4 steals and 2 assists.

Guard Tamarcus Thomas added 9 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 steals.

Dominique Thomas was in double figures with 12 points, 6 in the first quarter, 4 steals and 4 assists.

Ladarius Jones added 6 points, John Harrison had 5 points and Alvin Jones added 5 points.

Jonathan McGuire added 4 points.

Linden got off to a slow start and never recovered.

Kendarus Goodwill played hard in the losing effort with 12 points and 9 rebounds.

Antonio Shields also battled down low with 12 points and 9 boards as well.
