Quintravis Johnson scored three touchdowns and a two-point conversion, and the Broncos’ defense registered its fifth shutout of the season this week in a 38-0 win over the Cowboys in Selma Parks and Recreation Youth Football League action at Memorial Stadium.
Demarquis Lumpkin got the Broncos on the board with a 2-yard scoring run. Johnson added the two-point run to make it 8-0.
Johnson registered his first score on a 55-yard interception return for a touchdown. The second-quarter pick and two-point conversion by Leon Sanders made it 16-0.
Halfback Jesse Harris upped the margin to 22-0 with a 20-yard run.
After his defensive touchdown in the second quarter, Johnson scored from the offensive side. The Broncos’ quarterback scrambled 15 yards for the score in the third quarter. Labarin Eaton added the two-point conversion to make it 30-0.
Johnson scored again in the fourth quarter, this time from 20 yards away, and Joshua Davis added the two-point conversion to cap the scoring.

Dolphins 14, Bears 8
Rodney Ellis and Jeremy Crum each scored a touchdown as the Dolphins built a 14-0 lead and held on to beat the Bears.
Ellis scored on a 4-yard scramble and added the two-point conversion to break a scoreless tie and put the Dolphins ahead, 8-0.
Crum substituted for Ellis at quarterback and scored on a 5-yard run in the third quarter to make it 14-0.
The Bears’ only touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a 10-yard run by quarterback Anton Summers. Halfback Tikeem Cooper added the two-point conversion.
Dolphins 16, Colts 8
Rodney Ellis scored two touchdowns as the Dolphins got by the Colts.
The game was tied after the first period. The Colts scored on a 2-yard touchdown run by Mark Bynog, who also added the two-point conversion.
The Dolphins countered with a 60-yard scoring run and a two-point conversion by Ellis to knot the score at 8.
Ellis put the Dolphins ahead for good when he scored on another long run, this time a 50-yarder. Ellis also scored the two-point conversion to make it 16-8.
The teams’ respective defenses played well the second half, keeping the opposing offense off the board.
Jets 12, Vikings 0
Halfback Eddie Johnson tallied two touchdowns and the Jets defense kept the Vikings off the board to pick up the win.
Johnson broke a scoreless tie in the second quarter when he bullied his way into the end zone from the 1-yard line to give the Jets a 6-0 halftime lead.
Johnson scored again in the third quarter, this time on a 42-yard run, to make it 12-0.
Bears 6, Colts 0
Quarterback Anton Summers scored the game’s only touchdown and the Bears defense came through with the shutout as the Bears earned their first victory of the season.
Summers scored on a quarterback keeper from three yards out in the second quarter to put the Bears ahead for good.
