If Dallas County voters want to be a part of the Nov. 2 General Election, time is running out for registration.
Synethia Pettaway, of the Dallas County Board of Registrars, said the deadline for registering to vote or changing an address is right on top of Dallas County.
“The deadline is Friday, the 22nd,” she said. “The deadline for absentee ballot applications is the 28th.”
Voters can go by the Dallas County Board of Registrars during office hours today and tomorrow and register to vote.
No identification is needed to register, although identification will be needed at the polls on Nov. 2.
Dallas County is expected to vote on several local, state and national offices, along with a handful of amendments to the Alabama constitution.
According to Pettaway, none of the candidates in local offices are opposed.
In the race for U.S. Representative in the 7th Congressional District, Steve Cameron is running on the Republican ticket against incumbent Artur Davis.
There are more than 30,000 registered voters in Dallas County. Pettaway hopes to have more registered by Friday.
