Infant Kaniaja Day Shundra Moore
Infant Kaniaja Day Shundra Moore, died Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at a local hospital.
Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 21, at Elmwood Cemetery with Pastor Eugene Taylor officiating and Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include her loving mother, Katrina W. Moore and father, Edward D. Moore of Selma; three brother, Kentravius, Edward Jr. and Edgerrin Moore; grandparents, Brenda K. Moore of Selma and Evelyn (Clarence) Murray of Birmingham; great-grandmother, Loretta Moore of Selma; two aunts, Patricia (BaKair) Stanford and Pauletta Boykin of Birmingham; eight uncles, Derek Williams, Patrick Moore, Akeem Moore of Selma, Mitchell Williams, Micheal (Tyra) Boykin of Jonesboro, Ga., Robert Williams of Birmingham and Donald Boykin of Huntsville; and a host of great-uncles, aunts and cousins.
Infant Moore was born on Wednesday, October 13, 2004.
Ada Marie Stone
Ada Marie Stone, 86, of Montgomery, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at a Montgomery hospital.
Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, at the Chapel of Leak-Memory Chapel with Dr. Earl Hall officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Pineview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Selma with Leak-Memory Chapel directing.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Lester P. Stone; daughter, Ruth S. Porter (Donald) of White Plains, N.Y.; brother, Don Rogers (Marciel)-Springfield, OH; two grandchildren, Deborah Melillo; Christopher Porter; two great-grandchildren, Bryan Gray; Deanna Melillo.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Kirk and Mabel Roberts, and three brothers, Fred Rogers, William Rogers, and Frank Rogers.
Rev. and Mrs. Stone served numerous pastorates across the U.S. with the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rev. Lester P. and Marie R. Stone Memorial Trust Fund c/o The Baptist Foundation of Alabama, PO Box 4773, Montgomery, AL 36103.

Layton Thomas Hooks
Layton Thomas Hooks, 92, of Selma, died Monday, October 18, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2004 in the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. James Furrow officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include a sister: Reather Hooks Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers include Heath Goodwin, Terry Goodwin, Booby Weaver, Carl Mott, Mark Mott, and Al Livingston.
The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Stella Colburn Oglesby
Stella Colburn Oglesby, 82, of Marion, Alabama, died Tuesday, October 19, 2004, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.
Services are scheduled for Thursday, October 21, 2004 at 11:00 at the Oondville United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Arthur Merchant. Burial in Pondville Cemetery directed by Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel.
Survivors include five sons, Bernie Oglesby (Ann) of Marion, Bobby Oglesby (Charlotte) of Marion, Eugene Oglesby of Marion, Paul Oglesby (Donnita) of Greensboro, Jerry Oglesby (Julie) of Brent; daughter Linda Sue Hodgens (Gene) of Pleasantville, TN; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
