wounded and two others arrested for assault.

The incident began around 6:30 p.m. when the Selma Police responded to a call of shots

being fired near Brown Chapel Church.

Officers found a male victim lying in a parking lot with a gunshot wound to his left leg.

The victim was later transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center by ambulance,

where he was treated and released.

Detectives on the scene were able to collect evidence and interview witnesses.

Within minutes they arrested two suspects, 31-year-old Edward L. Garner and 27-year-

old Jammie Campanella Johnson, both of Selma, and charged them in connection to the

crime.

Garner was charged with second-degree assault and Johnson was charged with carrying a

concealed weapon.

Both men were booked and taken to the Dallas County Jail.

Garner received a $10,000 bond while Johnson received a $500 bond.

Selma Police Chief Robert Green said the case is still under investigation and other charges

and arrests could be made.
